Lovely MSE week. Haven't spent anything that wasn't coming out of a budget somewhere.
Opened the mini-MM's some new savings accounts. They were getting piddling interest rates with the old ones so it was time for a change. Also upgraded our Santander e-saver account to the most recent issue. Don't keep much in this account but its a handy stashing place for keeping money owed to the credit card for the month.
Checked my mortgage and I can OP by as much as I like without penalty.
Waiting for another week or two to see if First Direct launch a new regular saver account. I loved the last one at 8% but mine finished in Feb and didn't cash out until after the other one had been withdrawn. If First Direct don't offer something in the next couple of weeks I'll need to find somewhere to put the grocery money as I'm stoozing it at the moment by using a 0% credit card.
Done lots of jobs round the house today. Made muffins and rolls for the lunches next week. Homemade soup for lunch. Low fat home made curry for dinner. :T
Am I bad that I was envious of blue mini-MM when he found £1 road kill this week? He asked me to look after it for him and I had to steal myself to give it back!MFW Challenge 2019 - £2,420 / £2,420 - 100% :T0 -
Done some more MSE jobs for the mini-M's this week. Having already applied for new savings accounts for them I have now also just sent in the forms to move their Child Trust Funds over to a new provider. Should be all up and running within 30 days.
Still no sign of the First Direct Regular Savers account making an appearance.
I've got another savings account coming to the end of its rate in April and will have to see what else is available at the time. Will also have to think about ISA's and move them if necessary.
Finally got round to doing something today that will make Tilly proud! My spreadsheet of regular outgoings (mortgage, council tax, electrickery etc) has been, up until now, worked out to the penny. Therefore the account always reflected to the penny what was due to go out and I couldn't Tilly Tidy from it. Today, I have rounded up all the outgoings to the nearest £ so that when one goes out I can Tilly Tidy the remains!:D:D:D:D
All food and other expenses on target for the month. :money:MFW Challenge 2019 - £2,420 / £2,420 - 100% :T0 -
STOP PRESS - First Direct Regular Savers is back. 6%!
That'll do nicely.
Weird as I only checked this morning and it wasn't there then.MFW Challenge 2019 - £2,420 / £2,420 - 100% :T0
