  • Evening all. Well I called the roof guy and he was to come round today and give me a price but I haven't heard from him yet so I will have a nice wee worry about that for a wee while longer ;).

I am Skint !!Nothing new there you may say but I feel as if I am climbing a mountain just now and its covered in ice and I have slippy shoes on . But I'll get there. Just had a couple of curve balls thrown at me. Firstly the guttering needing done now instead of next year, then home tonight to 2 letters - 1 from tesco ( who I am concentrating on now) telling me they are increasing my interest rate from 1st May and another from my work telling me that my pension contribution is going up again. So hence the slippery slope analogy.

But I haggled successfully for the first time ever today and it was so exciting. Was out at lunchtime getting a gift for a workmate and the necklace we saw was £65 but we only had £60. I asked if there was any lee way on the price and the woman told me no. I politely said ok thanks and walked away. She stopped me and asked what necklace it was and I said well of there's no leeway then not to worry but she asked if it was in the sale and when I said no she went and got it from the display. I winked at my pal as I knew then that we would get it. She asked if we worked in the shopping centre and I said no, she asked again ( raising her eyebrows) if we worked in the centre as staff who worked in the centre got a discount and I said yes we work in Boots :rotfl:. Total lie of course and my pal said no we dont, i told her to shut up, we all had a wee giggle and I got the necklace for £58.50 :D Go me :D. We were all gob smacked and couldn't believe it had worked so easily.

So I need to become Mrs mega organised. My work is walking out at lunchtime tomorrow on strike so I will have the afternoon to sort out the house. Hopefully I will know what my roof is going to cost me and I will get a menu plan done for the next week and sort out our food. I have managed today to get back on the straight and narrow with diet and fingers crossed I can keep that up. Time to man up and sort myself out and be the way I was at the start and scrimp scrimp scrimp. It's only 18 months :D

  • Re the letter from Tesco, can you not reject the interest rate hike by closing the card? We did that with LTSB, just said that we wouldn't be spending on it again so they 'stopped it', which means we are still paying it off but at the lower rate. Unless of course it was a promotional rate which is ending, in which case ignore me!

Hope you get a good quote for the work you need done Xx

  • No quote yet PLMBL. The letter from tesco gives me that choice and I will call them and do that just incase I don't get it paid off in time but I will do that in work as it's an 0845 number :p.

Well we walked out today at 1pm so I came home and tidied front and back gardens. Took 2 loads of junk to the skip :D so gardens are looking smashing :D. I need to get int my pots and get them sorted out and do a wee bit of weeding. Really going to try and keep on top of it this year. Both gardens are small so should be easily done. I got guys in last year to totally sort them out so they are in good nick. Then cleaned all of downstairs and DD finished stripping the kitchen. I even scrubbed the outside of my front door. What brought this cleaning frenzy on?? The sun came out and it was a beautiful day here so I was all energised. Knackered now though :rotfl:. 2 loads of washing done and ready to go on the line tomorrow as it is to be another cracking day. I will get that out before DS and I go to work. We've already been paid for it :( so no overpayments.

No money through yet from CSA so they must be having bother collecting from ex. Oh well quele surprise !!

Nice wee night out to look forward to tomorrow with my brother and his wife. Really looking forward to it. My bro had paid my ticket and DD will run us there so just a taxi home and some drinks to buy but it is dirt cheap so all is well :D.

I hope everyone is well xx

  • Knackered.com. 2 holiday lets cleaned today and one of them was disgustingly dirty. I don't know why people think it's okay to just walk out and leave everything at their backside. Never mind they were so lazy they left a cracking tube of body wash that DS now has :D. So 7 bedrooms cleaned, 5 bathrooms , 3 lounges, 2 dining rooms and 2 kitchens made all sparkly . Am going out tonight but at the minute I can hardly move a muscle :rotfl:.

Really looking forward to my night out. It's a school of rock night so 3 rock bands playing and we are having school dinners :rotfl:.No doubt something with custard. Going with my brother and his wife and a couple of friends. Will be a great wee night.

Oh well my horse was a donkey in the national so no prize money for me. The bookies will be happy tonight.

Am away to try and beautify myself just in case Mr Right is here tonight :rotfl:

Sounds like a great night ahead. Thats if you dont fall asleep after all that hard work.

Got third in the national in the sweepstake at work, wont find out how much i have won (prob not much) till we go back to school. One of my jobs is a dinnerlady, anyway any winnings will be going straight into my sealed tin and will be paid off my CC when i open the tin at the end of june.x

I saw a status on facebook earlier that said 'have you ever been so drunk you have held onto a blade of grass incase you fell off the world' it made me :rotfl:cos lets be honest we have all been there. Well tonight i was reminded of something. I used to go out with my brother and his mate and I would be like a rubber woman coming home until I realised they always bought doubles, Well tonight I was out with my brother and guess what?? Hmm doubles again. BUT I cottoned on quite quickly so not quite a rubber woman but defo pliable :rotfl:

Ha love it about your brother and his mates. I used to go out with my brother and his mates only cos i had to act as a "girlfriend" if any of his mates got unwanted female attention. God forbid if i got any male attention, they where met by a wall of testosterome.x
