Hi. Have lurked on your thread for a long time. Just wanted to say I think you're doing brillantly and you should be so proud of what you have achieved on your own. I'm sure your mum would have also been very proud of you.0

Knitting repaired
Moans over. I have lots and lots to be very thankful for and a wee day with my 2 and my brother and his family have reminded me of that. Had a wee visit up to Mum and I could just imagine her telling me to 'stop my bloody nonsense and get on with it ' .
Christopher-robin thanks for dropping in and come join in any time. I love to know that people read my rantings xx
I am so much better tonight. I had a chat with the family about it and they agree that it would be mad to borrow money and I was to carry on as planned. I actually ended up giving my brother some financial advice and felt like a money guru :money:. DD has said that she can easily line the kitchen and paint it all nice for me and it will do us another couple of years. My brother also said he will help finance DD when she starts up her property business so all in all a very positive and enjoyable day. I hope everyone else has had a good day too xx

Good evening folks, The sun has found us at last
.
I met up with my Canadian friend today and took her up to Luss for lunch. Cost me £30 but I rarely see her so I was happy to treat us. We then went a run up Loch Lomond and she loved it. All in all I have had another lovely weekend. House is a minging mess and ironing is hitting the ceiling but hey it'll get done when I have time and energy
So after a lovely day I got really horrible news tonight. My ex BIL and SIL are getting divorced. No idea why but they were one couple that I really thought would make it. They were so good together and a total couple IYKWIM. So sad for them all.
I have spent loads this weekend and this was a tight month already so I reckon it will be a tough month now. I have nights out every weekend and also DD birthday . I'll manage somehow

so far this year I have paid off £2026.07. Now that is brilliant, fantastic, amazing, good for me and all that BUT it is also disgraceful I have had to do it, shocking I owe so much and totally and utterly depressing when we could have had a fab holiday for that rather than have to pay off debt.I am going to do my best to be positive about it but it's hard
. I know when I get debt free that this money will then be available and I can save as quickly as I have paid off but the thing that makes me sad is that my kids will be more or less grown ups and will probably not want to come away on holiday with me any more
. Maybe they will. We'll see.
So as I said last night I have overspent this weekend. I should be okay so long as I don't do anything silly over the next few weeks. I will get £200 from DD on the 15th so that will more than cover her birthday and the nights out I have. I really really need to watch as we are having a walk out of work on Friday pm so this month I will have 1.5 days lost from my pay . I believe in what we are doing though so if it delays my DFD then so be it. My job which has been very secure for the last 20 odd years is now on a shaky nail and the government are constantly eroding any money I would be entitled to if I was made redundant. Quite scary to think about. I'll worry when I need to and just ensure that if the day comes when I get paid off that I at least am in the position of having no debts.
I can't get my BIL and SIL out of my head today. I think because I know how bad it is going through a divorce within that family I am really worried about them. So sad.
Just watched the news. I'm glad the Philpotts have been found guilty. It just proves what a moron that man was to think he could set up a fire as a revenge to his ex. He played with his kids lives :mad: absolute scum. His wife is no better. Rant over.
Am tired tonight and may just get a bath and head to bed early. Had a fabby stir fry for dinner so we are all suitably full.5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Hope you feel better after an early night MiT. Fab news about how much you have paid off so far, and that holiday will be all the better when you do get it as you will appreciate every minute of it.
Not so good news about your job and BIL/SIL. Hope both things work out for the best XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Just keep thinking about how much you have paid off than how much you have to go. Cos its a long haul to pay off your debt you have to have periods when u go alittle mad and have a splash of cash, otherwise it would be so depressing,u now know your limits and dont want to get any further into debt.
Totally agree about the philpotts, should spend the rest of their lives in prison. Pure evil.:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.000 -
Evening folks. Ended up not getting an early night last night as the noise of the birds scratching around my loft is freaking me out. I have a guy coming tomorrow to give me a price for replacing the lot and getting my house water tight again. I definitely have water coming in so I need to get it sorted ASAP. I really am not sure what it will cost but the guy who is coming round is a friend's husband so I'll hopefully get a fair price. I have no choice tbh so I just have to get on with it. I may rethink and just renew my loan and get my heating done too. It will probably add about 1 year to my DFD but I am going to end up with no heating as the noise from it is horrific and my roof is not watertight so I am going to end up with water damage. No choice now I'm afraid, I'm not going to stress over it as it's not frivolous spending and it has to be done.
I feel now that my debt is under control that I can easily make these decisions. My budget is mega tight because I choose for it to be like that so I can heavily overpay my cards but it also means that there is lots of slack if I need it. Nice position to be in
