  • Tears and snotters again tonight folks but only because I went to see Les Miserables. OMG it was absolutely the best film I have ever seen. Totally moved me. DD loved it too. So if you are going to see it then my advice would be to take a hankie and not need to use your sleeve like I did - classy bird me :rotfl:.

Just saw a video on facebook of a young girl punching a boy's face in. Boy reminded me of my son. Just looked like a quiet boy wanting peace. She was telling him to get on his knees so she could hit him. Seriously . Absolutely shocking and totally disgusting. The zombies are taking over our world folks and it is scary stuff.

So I spent £11 on pics tonight as I treated DD but as I said it was worth every single penny. Nice wee night out with my girl and a fab film

  • Evening folks. That's me signed up for the race for life. I have ordered a tee shirt in a size 2 smaller that what I am wearing so I better stay on the straight and narrow ;). Doing it with 2 friends in memory of a few people but mainly my Dad. Also a crowd from my work doing it as one of our friends has breast cancer and we are doing our best to keep her very positive. So that cost me £19 but am more than happy to pay it.

Been and cleaned the house tonight instead of tomorrow so am delighted that's done. Spent £20 in Aldi and will do a menu plan and shop for the other stuff I need tomorrow. We had leftover Christmas turkey tonight with gravy, potatoes and veg. Going to try lentil dahl tomorrow night but can't use ghee as on a diet so will see how it turns out. It will be a mega cheap meal so I am really hoping we like it :D.

I hope you are all hale and hearty and the snow is not too bad for you all. We have none :D

I've calmed down about the car now. It's only a bit of metal and realistically it will not cost me a penny as DD will pay it. I know it is tough of me to do that to her but she needs to learn that I can't always bail her out.

DD and I are off to see Les Miserables tomorrow and I can't wait :D. I've heard nothing but good things about it.

DD's friend had a baby yesterday and she wasn't even aware she was pregnant :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: can you even imagine the shock? Baby is gorgeous mind you.DD has been warned though. I am way too young to be a Gran :rotfl:/

NSD again today so am pleased with that :D. 5.5lbs off at slimming club so that's great as well :D

6 months ago today I lost my precious Mum. I have thought about her all day and spent a part of tonight having some memory time. Am sad but am okay and I will be okay going forward, as she taught me well how to be a strong woman and how not to give in.My wee Mum had a hard life but always came out smiling. Her Mum died when she was 7 and she was in a large family. Her Dad was a drinker and my Aunty brought them all up. This is quite a familiar story of life in the 40's-50's. She married my Dad when she was 21 and myself and my brother came along to make their family complete. They never had much money but oh my there was boundless love. They really were soul mates. Then cancer came to visit and took my darling Dad at the age of 37 and Mum was left a widow with a 10 yr old and a 13 yr old. We were good kids so at least that was something. She then had rheumatoid arthritis and was quickly crippled with it and could no longer work. She sold her house and moved into a wee council flat. The grandkids came along and a prouder Gran there could not have been. She bored anyone who would listen to her with tales( often exaggerated) of their exploits. She helped me constantly and also spent all her money on us. She was a tiny wee power house of a woman who had a hard life. She could be a wee tyrant and still ruled me till the day she died. But all I can say, and I say it with pride is that she was and always will be MY MUM and I love and miss her massively. BUT i am what she made me and I will make her proud of me.

Bit of a story but she was some woman.:heart2:

MIT i have tears in my eyes reading this. Your mum was obviously one special lady (((HUGS)))) xxxxx

:eek:To not knowing she was pregnant!!! OMG!!!!

:j:j:jOn the weightloss, that is fab!!

  • Aww Princess sorry but I was feeling it the other night. Am back to normal service now.

PLMBL no thanks you can keep it. We usually get snow before everyone and I end up snowed in as I stay on top of a hill and we just get stuck. It can come on Monday and I'll get a day off. I get called Heidi in work as I can rarely manage in when the snow comes. As soon as they hear the snow is on down here they say 'oh well Heidi won't manage in today' and everyone knows who they mean :rotfl::o. Shame for me. I also get the p^ss taken out of me as I am always cold. Folks sitting round me have windows open and I am sitting with a cardy on, a slanket round me, a hot water bottle and a blow heater under my desk :rotfl::o. I just cannot bear being cold. I hate to think what I will be like when I get to my target weight!! I'll need thermals in summer .

Dont be sorry, they were nice tears :)
I am always cold, a girl even had a hot water bottle at work on Friday and we took turns hugging it to keep warm  Granted, that is extreme but the heating had broken :rotfl:
  • I love my hot water bottle. Well actually hot water bottles :o. Well I do live in Scotland. £22 spent today in ASDA. Sent DD for my shopping so it was lovely and cheap as she only bought what was on the list :D. Meals sorted out until Friday. Made lentil dahl tonight. My brother had made me an Indian hamper at Christmas time and I used one of the spice mixes. Wowsa it was a hot one. I am a wimp when it comes to curries mind you. I love the taste ut am not so good with the heat. Very cheap mind you so that's a bonus.

Going to church tomorrow with all the family. Then going to my aunts for lunch. I have someone coming to see a cross trainer I am selling in the afternoon then I am going to meet friends and head out for a good long walk then a diet juice somewhere and a blether.Am looking forward to it :).

Lots of housework done today so that's good and I have spent the evening chilling watching telly and knitting. My SIL asked me to do an aran cardigan for her Mum for her birthday and it is this week . I better get a move on

    Trying to shift that debt!
  • Thanks for that SBO it arrived this morning. :(. Not sure I like your gift choices. :rotfl:

Today was a good day and I am happy happy. Phoned the insurance company and it turns out that we only need to pay our excess if we use the insurance company to fix my car. I said no thank you I will get it done myself. Mine only has a wee dink in the bumper and a scratch so I will get it done but it will cost nowhere near £750 so DD and I are super duper delighted :D

Nothing else to report and I only have 8 days left to finish cardy so I better move my bottom xx
