  • Well keep on swimming lovely. They shouldnt have even had to drag you in to that stressful situation - it should have been a cursery notice about the sick leave. What are you supposed to do? Silly S*ds. Hope your mum is comfortable at least, its so upsetting when they are disorientated.x

  • Swimming away here SBO. Swimming away :)

Not up to see Mum tonight as my brother has gone up. We have a meeting tomorrow with the medical team for an update on where we are at. I cannot tell you how sick I feel about it.I am in panic mode in case I need to make other provisions for her as I have no clue where to even begin. Not going to think about it just yet.

My Aunt and cousin are off to Lourdes this week. She was asking who wanted a petition taken ( special prayers that are said at the grotto) but I said no as I cannot get what I want but I just asked her to say a wee prayer for a comfortable end for my mum. Was tearful telling her and tearful again telling you guys. I am on the whole okay and work definitely helps as you get caught up in the normality of life but the tears just keep appearing without warning :(.

Anyway today I had to give DS £5 for a trip he was going on. Cheap day out for him and kept him amused for the day. Also spent £2,80 on my lunch. Now I took lunch with me but I ate that at break and then had to buy lunch :o. I am such a stress eater :o. Going to pay the £6 into my CC for lunch money for today :D. I hope I can keep it up :T.

Last wee moan.................where the h*ll is the sun????

Ah, I feel for you MIT. It's sad when "a comfortable end" is the best you can pray for. But I can reassure you from my mum's passing a week ago today, it is very comforting to know that a loved one had a peaceful end.

  • Aww Sea I know you know xx

Doesn't look like I am going to get what I want though. Although Mum is very sick there is no way of telling how long she has got left so the hospice has decided that she could possibly be better off in some sort of nursing home. I am actually much better than I thought I would be. I just need to find a great place for her now . Part of the problem is that everyone around her in the hospice is obviously dying and the ladies she went in with have both passed on. Although mum is fine with this just now eventually it will get to her ( and us). So we need to get her into a different environment but with fabulous care facilities. Not much to ask . But by God I will try.

Spent £3.20 on my lunch today. Paid £39.50 off of credit card. That's the £6 for today and tomorrow and £27.50 from cleaning this weekend. I spent £28 from Christmas money and bought 2 icing nozzles and 100m of cellophane. I am definitely going to do the cupcake boxes this year for all the people I buy wee mindings for and for my staff. I bought the boxes last year and the cases so I will just need the ingredients now. I am going to practice the icing though and see how I get on with them. I am a good enough baker but have never tried the fancy icing techniques. I'm sure I'll manage though ( maybe ) :rotfl:

I hope everyone is well xx

  • Yes am ok with the nursing home thing. Just need to talk mum around.

My brother came home today to a letter from my Mum's old consultant. It was a really beautiful letter and very very personal. All about what a lovely lady she was, how she cheers all the staff up as she is always smiling and positive, how he misses her in his clinics as she has attended there for so many years and how he was so so sorry that he was limited in what he could do for her. And why did we get this letter? Because he was informed she had died :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:. I laughed at first at the incongruity of it all but am angry now. I have no idea if everyone has been informed this because they have mixed her up with someone else or if the consultant has read the notification incorrectly. Would have been a lovely letter to get if she had died but AHEM  she's still here. Hospice called me and were horrified that this had happened. Investigation now started. I don't want anyone to get into trouble and I dont want the consultant to feel bad - I just want an assurance that it is sorted.

Got my icing nozzles so that's exciting. I am going to practice this weekend with them. I have watched some tutorials on you tube so I will have a go and see how I get on :D. The roll of cellophane I bought is massive and will do me for years so that is great too. I'm going to start buying Christmas pressies soon so that come December I am not as skint as I was last year.

I have an almost new built in oven lying under my stairs. It was my mum's but it was hardly used and she bought a new one. It doesn't fit in the space I have for my oven so I am going to sell it and bite the bullet and buy a new one as mine is ancient. Only one oven works and we have no grill. I also have a brand new hob to be fitted. I can get a double oven out of Argos for about £400 and I will pay it off on interest free credit. This is an essential item for me unfortunately. But I am well happy to go and buy it :rotfl:. Not a jot of guilt do I have

Going to head off and do my housework so that other than cleaning job tomorrow my weekend can be a lazy one. Take care xxx

I do sometimes think it would be nice for people to hear how they changed peoples lives or brightened someones days rather than for others to hear it at their funeral so what a lovely letter to get about your Mum and it will be great for her to read the wonderful things said about her but :eek::eek: to the reason you got it. How in heavens name did that happen
