- I exchanged a £5 voucher for £10 off Toys, to buy my nephew a Lego set he really wanted, that was on offer at £10.
- I ordered the set.
- 2 days later Tesco e-mailed to say they didn't have the set and had cancelled my order.
- I tried to buy some different Lego but the £10 voucher code comes up as 'has already been used'.
- I called Tesco voucher exchange & they said to call Tesco Direct
- I called Tesco Direct & they said they'd reset the code & to wait 24 hours, then use it.
- I waited 48 hours, then tried to use the £10 voucher code ... & it came up as 'has already been used'.
- I called Tesco Direct & they said they'd reset the code & to wait 24 hours, then use it.
- I asked to speak to a manager & was told I couldn't.
- I am losing the will to live!
They said if I don't use the Exchange voucher, the points will be credited back to my Clubcard. Does anyone know if this is true? Has anyone else had a problem like this?0 -

Not true. They do not automatically go back into points. If you don't use them you lose them.
There are a few problems just now with the vouchers due to it being the new website and the voucher system linking together. If you have problems with vouchers give Tesco direct a call (clubcard rewards cant do anything). They will get them reactivated it can take up to 24 hours.
YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH VOUCHERS IF YOU ORDER OVER PHONE.
Only problem with that is the stock is split 70%/30% in favour of website so might not be instock.
SOURCE: I am answering calls everyday about this as i work in Tesco Direct
PM me any questions I am happy to help.0 -

I had a similar problem - after numerous phone calls they eventually gave me a giftcard number with credit so I could re-order as the item came back in stock....but then it got cancelled again. When I phoned again was told it would be re-credited back to the giftcard but nearly 2 weeks later... giftcard balance still £0.00. So p*ssed off with Tesco just feel like giving up now. Hope you have more luck.

Just tried ordering from Tesco Direct last night from 10.00pm to nearly 2.30am.
I purchase quite a few things on-line from some of the biggies, Play.com, Amazon etc down to one man bands and I have to say I have hardly ever had a problem, but Tesco Direct is the worst shopping site I have ever had the misfortune to try.
Over four hours to try to order one item, eventually after putting in my credit card details I got a screen saying that my order was complete but at that point the screen froze. I have got into work this morning, no confirmation email so I checked my account, yep the item was still in my basket.
Telephoned the help-line and nicely pointed out what an appalling website they have, so they said they would take my order over the phone and said I would have to give them my doubled vouchers all 33 of them (and don't get me going about how they only change them into £10 ones).
So we started going through the voucher numbers and she said oh dear they are being shown as used, we will have to reset them and it takes 24 hours and then I have to re-order. So I politely asked would they hold the item for me, "oh no sir we cannot do that"

Can anyone advise. I have 2 x £10 and 1 x £16 vouchers expiring soon. Tesco used to credit expiring vouchers back onto the account but they no longer do that so I have to use them. Can I exchange them into 3 x £5 coupons to use in the double up exchange, ie £5 from each voucher and having the balances recredited? I also have some vouchers running out in November does anyone know if the double up exchange occurs again before then or is the next one December?0

In reverse order - yes almost certain they will be another voucher exchange (especially so that Christmas savers can participate). Seems likely that the dates for that will enable end of Nov '12 vchrs to be used.
How do you mean - Tesco won't credit expiring vouchers back onto accounts!?
Many people recently had emails from Tesco warning them that they had vouchers expiring at the end of June.
Result - "I've had the email about a voucher going out of date, but I don't have any"
"That's alright I can see that, I'll put those points back on for you".
No problem.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
Hi, thanks for reply. But I'm confused, Tesco used to recredit vouchers but they stopped doing that last year, they now have to be exchanged and used. I'm saving for a holiday and I used to phone and ask for the expiring vouchers to be recredited which they always did without question. The last time I phoned I was told they no longer did that and all vouchers have to be exchanged before the expiry date, I have had unused exchanged day out coupons recredited in the past too but they said they don't do that either now! These rules were brought in last year and there was a thread on here about it at the time.0
