Maybe your friend should read the curly girl trimming technique. I wanted dh to do mine but he is far too sensible to try. Curly hair makes it much harder to find a good hairdresser, so many are scared of it and refuse to accept an inch off can make it bounce into curl more resulting in four inches shorter.

Yep, a mere inch off the ends most definitely makes it curl more and results in it being much shorter when it's dry. That's the main reason why I asked her to take so little off the first time she had a go at it. I'm so happy with my friend's efforts that I let her cut a few layers into it the last time she trimmed it for me. It's much curlier now that it's less heavy and it looks just great. MSE!

Thing is, we live in a place that is pretty much a retirement community. :D

I don't know anyone here to ask anyway.

Ask the assistants at the local chemist shop, they usually have a good idea.

That's a bit random, is it not? :D

Why 'chemist' rather than 'newsagent' or 'off licence'? Ok the last one was grasping at straws cos I couldn't think of another example. :rotfl:

Anyway, I've been and I'm back. I'm quietly confident. :D

No sticky out flicky bits, layers appear to be the same length and it's very very soft. (She had to cut 2 inches off the rest of it to make it all blend in with my bits. :o)

I've done the 'alias' test....where you pull bits of hair straight up to see if it's all even. (I may be a tad OCD about this. :o)

If it dries ok when I wash it tomorrow then I think I'd go back to her.

It's all blended now, I don't look like Suzi Quatro anymore. :rotfl:
