I know you can't help me but I'm going to share anyway...(hairdresser related)

Can't believe you've never had a man cut your hair. I've never had a woman do mine. Sad to hear the news today that Vidal Sassoon has died, I loved his haircuts.
Glad it is ok anyway and as people have said, it does grow back......0 -
I'm glad to hear that it seems to be OK, aj, because
Desperado is clearly unaware that big summer hats ain't going to be a lot of use to any of us for the next 6-8 weeks, and I think in the frozen north you're going to need a bobble hat for the foreseeable!Desperado99 wrote: »If all else fails just remember, hair grows and you can always wear a big summer hat for 6-8 weeks while it grows out
I have my 'fringe' taken off with clippers, no. 3, it's great!Last night at my dog training class I was complaining of my fringe being too long. One of the blokes there used to be a hairdresser and had a cut throat razor in the car. He offered to trim my fringe for me, and so I had it cut whilst stood in the middle of a field with a cut throat razor...
It may take a bit of time to get used to my new look!!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Glad it's ok. I hate changing hairdressers, I like to hang on to a good one as long as possible and see only that person. And you have reminded me I caught sight of myself out last weekend and realised by God does that raggedy mop need seeing to!
ETA: Big summer hats? Hide under a massive brolly more like!0 -
The day after I posted here last, I decided my hair wasn't ok after all. It had sticky out bits that just wouldn't lie flat no matter how much I'd got the GHD's on them. It was too flicky for my liking, I like smooth and flat, not flicky and textured. I decided not to tell you though as you'd suffered enough of my moaning.

Anyway...I cut it again myself. And again. And again. After this morning's trim, I finally accepted I can't keep going and I'm going to a different hairdresser this afternoon in the hope she can fix it. I have so many layers cut into one side of my head that I'm almost bald. The other side only has a few as I was getting scared of the old 'table leg' syndrome. God knows what the back looks like, I work on the basis of if I can't see it, it doesn't bother me.
On the up side..it's now smooth and flat and it's lovely and soft as I've cut so much of the dead stuff off. :rotfl:
I haven't had this many layers since I was at school.
Just wanted to share. :rotfl:Herman - MP for all!

I can say it's meant to look like this then.
Actually mine is longer so it just looks thinner on one side than the other. Quite a bit thinner.

Why didn't you go back and ask for advice from the guy who cut it hun, instead of trying to sort it yourself

Because that's what I do. I'm Great British public.
I just kinda felt the layers weren't even (which is why I ended up snipping away myself - table leg thing again) and I also had a 'line' on one side.
I miss my old hairdresser, she was a bit of a perfectionist and everything was even and lay just right first time.

I can't remember if this has been mentioned before or not, but how far away is your old hairdresser?I miss my old hairdresser
Would it be possible to go back to her this once.
When she's finished take plenty of photos from all relevant angles, etc, and you can then show those photos to the new hairdresser next time.0
