The simple answer being you have no answers.
    off to ignore you go.

As you have been a thorn in my side from the start I have to say shut the door on your way out.
I have dealt with literally 100's of similar personalities and there is no possibility of a positive change in a forum environment.
On a squash court. now that is a different matter:-)

Get some sleep custardy - up at 2.30 am?

So you keep wriggling with your responses. Always interesting to see just how hard it is for someone to admit they are wrong when they've been presented with irrefutable facts that crush their argument.

So I'm with Custardy here (who, as it happens, is very knowledgeable on the RM network. Probably due to first hand experience of working in RM, rather than reading about it in the tabloids). Aaaahm Oot.

    Surprised it took so long.

Nice to see a thread with some interesting solutions to the ongoing Royal Mail issue. To sum up for anyone late to the party, government funded electric cars are the way forward or robot postmen with long arms:p

If this forum is relying on people like you and custardy for information on the Royal Mail, they are better off without you.

Just pick up macfly, oh and the other amigo RFW on your way out.

You're funny. Some enjoyable banter, job done, now you can own up and let everyone know you knew what you were talking about all along.:T

No - the current Royal Mail political situation was largely a mystery to me until I started this thread:-)
  • You haven't got a clue how Royal Mail works. People moan about the price increases yet still continue to use Royal Mail. There are other companies out there, TNT, Fed Ex, DHL, that take letters and I'm sure they will take yours. Or put the cost of the parcel/letter in fuel in your car and deliver it yourself.

As we are constantly saying on MSE always shop around for the best deal.

    LOL - another genius

Are there any other postmen out there who cannot see that ultimately if letter delivery gets privatised and competition comes into play, they will be treated worse than courier drivers.

Even as a 'newish postman' this should be your specialist subject - get real!!
  • There is already competition, genius, DHL, Fed Ex, TNT to name a few. Look on your letters. To help you it's the bit where the stamp goes.

I actually like the job. Get to meet different people including the odd idiot. ;)

And I've also gone to war, not over the post though. :D

The Royal Mail have no viable competition for personal letter delivery and small packet delivery which is essentially what this thread is all about, so please understand that competition means providing a similar service at a competitive price and back off!

I imagine one or two of the people you deliver to have also met an idiot but I couldn't possibly comment:-) It's a great job and you get to keep fit but how can you relax with being kicked around like a political football. Friends who are postmen are struggling and have been for some time.

May be worth going to war over the post. I for one, would be happy to join you!!
