Poxy travelodge, I'v just booked our room online, 1 night with breakfast and it's booked 2 rooms on the same night, one with breakfast and one without!
called central reservations but as we didn't take out the cancellation insurance he couldn't do a refund there so now my DH has to e-mail customer services (well actually he's called the above number) and is now awaiting a call back..... also noticed under the 'contact us' bit of the site it saysImportant information
Please provide feedback for any technical issues you have experienced on this Beta site.
so they better bloody give us the money back!!!
Rant over (for now)

I will never have anything to do with Travelodge ever again after a complete debacle last year. In a nutshell, my dad stayed at a travelodge on the M4 at Reading in February 2007 for one night (it was work related, and was paid for on his company credit card in person - he did not pre-book this stay). I work for my dad's company so I know he only stayed there for just one night, and did not pre-book any more nights (his work is ad-hoc, so we can never pre-book anything. Imagine my shock when his September statement showed a bill for one night's stay that on the 4th of that month! Strange as he was actually out of the country that night...
After A LOT of phone calls, emails, staff who barely speak English, broken promises, being called a liar (they said my dad pre-booked the September stay in February, which was complete bullsh), we got our refund, credited back to the card. But we did have the last laugh because we also received a refund by cheque! The idiots didn't realise they'd already refunded us. Hahaha :rotfl:0 -
Has anyone been ripped off by travelodge
i booked a room and paid £70.00 and realised the date was wrong and when i called them straight back i was told i couldnt cancell or change the date because it was after 12. I made the booking at 14:43 and litteraly 5 mins later they took the money and i couldnt do anything about it. I call that robbing the public. I have been trying since the 10th july to get refunded and they are just messing me about. Does anyone know who i can complain to . I have sent a letter to their head office and i no reply. I was told in one email that i would be refunded then in another email i was told i would get evouchers. I have recieved neither . What the hell can i do about it. I dont intend to let them get away with it. Any ideas ?0 -
Did you accidentally book a room for that night? If it was after 12pm that day then you'd not be entitled to a refund.0

yes it was a complete accident , i didnt realise the date hadnt been changed to the date i wanted. However i feel you should at least have the chance to amend the date. You dont go into a shop and pay for somthing and then find its the wrong size and then be told its too bad you cant change it ,do you ? i made the booking at 14:43 and by 14:50 £70.00 was lost. Thats not right.0

Infringes on their trademark???
I think they're trying to bully you by coming out with a load of nonsense.
Unless you're using their name to run a rival hotel business, or profit in some other way by "passing yourself off" as Travelodge (i.e. pretending to be Travelodge), trademark law doesn't enter the equation.
There's no law against having a protest website about a company, or even using their name or logo to illustrate your website.
I really don't think you should be bullied into taking the site down or handing over the domain to them.
Tell em to ........ off.0
