Eh? Are you stalking my posts?
FYI I didn't expect the Ritz, but neither did I expect fire doors to be wedged open or a non-smoking room to stink of smoke.
You didn't say you were distressed at this tea-room, merely that you arrived to late to be served and weren't allowed to use the loos as you were not a customer. Would a hug make you feel better?0 -
Fire doors are ALWAYS propped open at Travelodge
Non Smoking rooms ALWAYS smell of smoke at Travelodge
...and the one you stayed in at Kings Cross probably entertains a slightly 'different' type of client - the sort who pay by the hour!!
That's probably why your bed was broken...
I travel a lot for work and avoid Travelodges at ALL costs!!!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
I must admit i found the thread amusing.
Travelodges are for drunken one night stands...0 -

FYI - we are frequent travellers and have stayed in many Travelodges, so this thread was of interest to us.
I agree Travelodges can be hit or miss but would avoid in big towns and by motorways.
I would like the service in the UK to be better than it is - in general we found it to be very good on our recent travels but there is room for improvement, otherwise the vent thread would be redundant!
We were staggered that a person who is in the hospitality industry and on best tea rooms in the world sites could be so petty and uncaring - that distresses me. He made no alternative suggestions for tea or toilet facilities. His attitude makes me feel ashamed to be British - imagine how a foreign tourist would have felt being treated in such a shoddy way? Clearly the runt doesn't like people
Maybe you accept bad attitudes, we are business people ourselves and we expect high standards when on holiday!
FYI - I have complained about bad service somewhere else and the place got shut down.An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

not the ones ive been to they never smell of smoke and ive never seen firedoors wedged open and if i did i would close them.. I only use the travelodges now if its the £15 or if nothing else available..
Ive found using Express through pigsback gets me money back and they have a loyalty reward scheme..Those we love don't go away,They walk beside us every day,Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
Our thoughts are ever with you,Though you have passed away. And those who loved you dearly,
Are thinking of you today.0 -
What all down to you!:rotfl:
And the childish point of that reply is???
What useful info did that provide? - grow up, comments like that are devaluing the board!!!
I am beginning to see that this Vent board is a free for all to put the complainers down.An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

I use Travelodge a lot. They are pretty cheap, the rooms are big, they let you take a dog and, in my experience, the rooms are usually very clean.
I did have one bad experience (can't remember which Travelodge it was) where there was no cold water only hot!! The girl on reception said it would be fixed in a couple of hours but it was not. Imagine trying to clean your teeth with hot water! Also the tv did not work.
I complained to the Manager and had all the cost of the room refunded. The world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie0 -

Your post didn't provided anything useful either, no as explanation to how this was achieved by just one person!
I've noticed your tea rooms thread where you say "Bearing in mind this place is in the middle of nowhere with no other facilities" then say here "He made no alternative suggestions for tea or toilet facilities"
Could this not be because it was in the middle of nowhere with no other facilities!
"I am beginning to see that this Vent board is a free for all to put the complainers down." I'm just pointing out common sense and logic that it appears you've overlooked.
"Clearly the runt doesn't like people" A bit of a childish remark as well!0 -
Well, to bottom off this thread I eventually rang customer service and they chased the hotel for me. They were bouncing me between 2 hotels as CS at sleepy hollow had supplied the wrong reservation number. Anyway, got a letter from the hotel apologising and refunding me in full.
I'll still use them as it's the only place where I can stay in London for my college course for only £26!Regards
