OH or H2B should I say and I have been together 5.5 years, have 2 children and I asked him on 29th Feb this year. Have been doing some researching/planning the last few weeks and he's (literally just) agreed on September next year, no date as, going to discuss that with venues as we view. Woohoo, Im getting married!!

Hi all, I am back now! Anna & DueMarch I have added you to the first post, congratulations

All of my vistaprint stuff arrived while I was away and I spent an hour last night sticking diamantes to my business (aka place) cards!

Haven't got much else to do at this stage really, going to see events coordinator in Sept to make a formal booking and talk layouts etc, then maybe a lady about flowers but that will be it until we give notice later this year!

Very happily married on 10th April 2013 :D

I comfirmed my date with the church and reception venue and booked my photographer this weekend and will do my save the date later this month but then I will leave all the finer details until after Christmas.
    Very excited though! :)

Great news! I still have moments when I think it is absolutely ages away but my countdown started at over 480 days and now we are on 430 so it's going quickly. Another trip to the Maldives in April will help break it up anyway :rotfl:

I've written out a spreadsheet of all the things we have to do and when deposits will need to be paid by and I have allocated certains tasks to certain months so that I won't fall behind (or get too far ahead!).

Think next things for us will be paying the reception venue deposit in September and giving notice later this year.

    Hi all,

Well we have set ourselves a date, Friday 13th woohoo. Have had a few funny looks when told people but don't care. We wanted September and we met on Friday 13th so seems quite apt for us.

Going to see two venues on Sunday, both have really good package prices so hoping to get a good deal!

Anyone looked at dresses yet or like me are you trying not to until you become a size 8 (in my dreams ha ha)

    Hi guys,

I used to be caroline_john but changed my name.

So what's everyone done so far? I've booked church, reception, had a meeting with caters at weekend and have met with a few photographers but not booked yet. I also got my DRESS yesterday. My mum was bugging me to go and have a look but ended up falling in love with one.

Hope your all having fun planning.

I have a date twin at last! I thought I was the only one mad enough to want Friday the 13th, I still get odd looks about it :rotfl:. Good luck with your venue hunting!

The biggest bits are done for us (apart from engagement ring shopping!), bought my dress about 6 weeks ago because it was an absolute bargain :D

Hello, I've booked mine for Saturday 14 September 2013!

We'd been to look at a few places and not found anything perfect, then Groupon had a deal at a local Hilton for £1400 for ceremony room, 3 course meal for 50, 1 glass welcome wine, 1 glass with meal, bubbly for toasts, chair covers, and then buffet for 80 and disco, &room for bride &groom. We went to see it and were happy with it, not in the best of locations on a businesses park, but close to motorway so great for our families and friends who have to travel, and good prices for rooms.

The price meant we could book this lovely stately home/museum right by us for the ceremony, too, so we're getting married and having our photos there and in the lovely gardens, then on to the Hilton for the reception.

I find it really irritating that you can't book the registrar more than a year before though - loads if people book their wedding venue 2-3 years in advance, why can't they just take bookings earlier?!
