How is everyone getting on, managed to get any more done yet?
This week I managed to get most of the bits for invites, all courtesy of vistaprint! I have 50 oversized postcards with my own design, 100 plain purple postcards, twenty thank you cards and 250 business cards in white with a purple butterfly design (they have the Vistaprint logo on the back so I will glue two together to cover it) which I am going to use as favour tags/placecards.... all for about £9 postage :j. I set us up a website on gettingmarried.co.uk so our guests will be able to RSVP and choose their meals on there rather than having to post replies etc! I am going to get some nice pearlised paper to print our text on and will stick that on the purple post cards and then they will go on the back of the other ones! I am going to embellish them too with some ribbon and diamantes so that will give me something to do during the winter :rotfl:
On a little revision break I managed to win an auction for 100 mixed 9cm x 7cm organza bags for £3.20. I decided I didn't want to go too overkill with the purple although that is our 'main' colour so am hoping the mixture will have some nice bright colours! We don't have enough guests to warrant a sweetie buffet so I am going to fill around 50 bags with sweets, enough for the day guests and some for the evening guests too :j
Through our local wedding page on facebook I found a lady who makes the most amazing cakes, she can do anything from stacked celebration cakes to full on wedding cakes and giant cupcakes, her pictures are really awesome. At the moment she has an offer on for 100 cupcakes and giant cupcake for £100, she also does a 3 tier wedding cake for £99 . She posted a pic yesterday of a mini cupcake tower and all the cakes had different colour icings and it looked really cool, each cupcake is 25p for vanilla or 30p for chocolate, how cheap is that?! I have ordered a giant cupcake for my mums birthday next month so if that's good then I will be seeing her for our wedding cake/cakes (not sure what we are having yet!). I love the mini cupcake idea, especially as we will have guests arriving at various times!

Hi Jo, there is a thread here on the wedding board somewhere with lots of tips on it but basically you need to sign up, pretend design a few things and save them in your portfolio and then you will normally get a few emails a week offering you various things for free - postcards, invites, magnets, thank you cards, pens etc, you just click through the link and design whatever you want and you just pay postage (unless you want extra bits added etc). I think you can have three things for free on each order. I always select the slow postage which is the cheapest, it says 3 weeks for dispatch but I got my magnets in 10 days

Hi everyone, mind if I join? We haven't booked anything yet but we want either the 28th September or the first weekend in October. I would love the 13th but we're planning on getting married in Prague so a Saturday is more practical for everyone to be able to get there. Have a few venues in mind but we have to decide on a wedding planner first! Have emailed the 3 main agencies and are waiting to see what they come up with. We'll go with whoever gets the stuff right with the best price!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170
