School Uniform and clothes deals thread

Debenhams have the school uniform on offer at the moment, if you go to their website. Seems to last longer than the cheaper uniforms, which I was having to replace almost constantly. Having said that, there appears to be a price war going on near me at the moment, so if you live in maesteg (south wales) get yourself into town, as the two competing shops are going for gold...multibuys galore!

Hi
Can anyone recommend the best place for long - sleeved white shirts please? I bought M&S non-iron shirts last year in a 3 pack but have just looked online and the cheeky things have now changed it to a 2 pack! Quite liked the 'stiffness' of the non-iron type - bought a couple of sainsburys ones last year but didn't seem to last my boy long at all.
Life's too short for wasting on ifs and might have beens...........0 -

Also where is the best place to get them fitted for shoes? my daughter has funny toes! Clarks is so expensive!
My DD started off with 4 polo shirts, 3 pinafores and 2 cardigans, we had no problems lasting the week on that. She is in year 1 and now has a pair of trousers and a skirt to swap into as well but i found the polo shirts last 2 days with the pinafore but less likely with skirt/trousers.
For summer she had 3 summer dresses but i have added to that this summer and now has enough for 1 per day although regularly wears one for 2 days running.
I buy Start rite shoes online - you can buy the foot measuring thing (or go to a shoe shop and get them to check) and then order when they have their sales on. DD is a G fitting so when i see Clarks sales i sometimes buy the next size up to have ready for her.0 -

I wont by my daughter anything but clarks as its important to have good fitting shoes. They are more expensive but worth the money. Keep a look out for sales. Also see if you have a Clarks outlet store near you. They often have cheaper ones there. I brought her a pair from tesco when she first started school (4 yrs ago) & they only lasted about a week before she had totally scuffed the toes out so it is worth paying a bit more in the long run

I like the M&S ones as well, I went to the wardrobe to check sizing and noticed that DS's short sleeved shirts which are from Next look grey compared to the M&S ones! He hasnt even worn them that much so I think the M&S must be much whiter. I will be sticking to them even if they have changed to two packs (cheeky M&S) but would be good if someone can recommend others.0 -

I normally buy 100% cotton school shirts. My son prefers these and his skin doesn't react in the same way as it does with the non iron or mix ones. They are still super white. I got them from https://www.mandmdirect.com last year in the summer holidays for £2.99 for 2! They are organic cotton. Not sure if they will have them again this year but it may be worth keeping an eye out.
Next trousers all the way here. They have lasted my son since august last year til now and are still fine bar one pair which has a slight hole from him doing a slide tackle at playtimeKyle 03.04.04

sounds like M&S or Sainsbury's is the place to go.
Hopefully nearer the end of the summer there will be some good deals on! Learning to live with BPD & DDNOS

Hi, Does anyone know the best time to be buying uniforms? I have two boys (8 and 9) who both tend to wear the same size, so none of that useful hand me downs and I have to buy a lot every year! They are always coming home covered in mud and ripped trousers. Really 10 pairs of trousers is a minimum for us
They need Grey jumpers and white or yellow polos as well. I found really cute Grey V neck jumpers on Tesco at £3 but when I had the money to order they were gone and now they have something the same looking but its £8 each :O I suppose it will just have to be normal sweatshirts but nvm....
So should I buying soon-ish or waiting till the end and grabbing stuff in sales, I'm not sure whats best. ThanksBankruptcy Supporters Club No.1790
