Sorry, didn't know where to ask this question, feel free to move me but I thought the uniform experts may be the right people to ask.......!
My son 'lost' a new named jumper early last term, it didn't turn up until the end of term when another child saw a jumper left behind in the hall and read the name label...... it had both my son's name on it, and another name written alongside. It has evidently been worn all term by this other child, and the theft (no doubt the child took it home by accident, the parent's at fault here, although the child knows of my son and two daughters at school) was blatant as a new school jumper for free was too tempting for them.In the meantime I had to buy a replacement. Purple jumpers aren't cheap.
I photographed the label, and thought I'd calm down over the holidays, but I'm still really riled. Any ideas on whether to tell the school/pcso/other parent (a bit of a scary munter)/do nothing?....
Many thanks.0 -
Next.co.uk have got some school items in their offers section. Grey school trousers seemed to feature a lot. https://www.next.co.uk/offers/ Website can be a bit temperamental.0

Or google National Schoolwear Centre. Might be one local to you. TBH I think they will all deliver nationally.0 -

I would talk to the parents though you might be wasting your breath. My DD accidently picked up the wrong trousers after PE on the first week back at school. She came home in trousers that were all scuffed on the bottom, she knew the girl who had accidently taken hers, so I washed the ones she had brought home and took them back to the parent the next day and explained the mix up. She claimed her daughter had the right ones.... what can you do?! I would not have the bare faced cheek for the sake of an £8 pair of trousers.0 -
someone ripped off DH's jogging suit bottoms two months ago, they are named and hopefully will come back after the holiday when someone somewhere should have washed them and realised, but I'm not holding my breath"There is no substitute for time."

I'd definitely tell your childs teacher or possibly the headteacher! That is blatant dishonesty. If it were me, I'd also make sure the other parent knew that I knew (scary munter or not, lol) and also make sure that she knew if any of my childs schoolwear went missing I would know where to look.
Have you tried talking to the parent?
One of my daughter's nursery school jumpers went missing last year and, despite her name and class being clearly marked in it, it never showed up again. I know it didn't make it into the lost property because the nursery teachers would have given it back to me so somebody must have had it off!0 -
Just back from Tesco Milton, nr Cambridge where they'd reduced a batch of school uniform, including multipack polo shirts for £1, v neck school jumpers £1, girls school trousers £3 (from £7), multipack white v neck shirts 2 for £1 etc.0
