Used car dealers? What was the last car the pair of you shifted? A model T Ford? Bit of a heads up for the pair of you. They come in different colours now, so lets leave it to the op to find one eh, but hopefully not off you then.0

And certain colour combinations work on certain cars and others dont.
Simple common sense would tell you that.
Burgundy with beige leather =
Simple test for you. Granted, this one is a little more expensive, but with good reason. Which looks better and which looks more 'sporty'?
Yours compared to this..

And a diesel 159 is a nimble cross country sprinter is it?
Seriously. Think about what you're saying here - do you REALLY think anyones idea of a sports car is a burgundy diesel 159 on undersized wheels and with beige leather? Really? Do you know that little about cars that to you thats the best of the best?0 -

I knew you couldn't resist the Alfa really.0 -
Summers coming, Vauxhall Astra Convertable
4 seats, decent MPG on a cruise, not a lot of difference between the 1.8 and the 2.2 on a run, 1.8 is slightly beter around town. Rock solid and plenty of nice ones around.
Ohh, and the roof comes off0 -

But its an Astra. If you said Monaro, then fair enough... but a Junior rep-mobile with a hat?0 -

andygb - cooling down an RX8? That's a new one on me! And I wouldn't call it any more or less reliable than an Alfa. ANY car can have oil starvation, it's just that RX8s are DESIGNED to use oil, so you need to keep them topped up. This happens as often (in my experience of 1 RX8) as you should be checking the oil in any car anyway, so not an issue.
Sporty car (I'll take that as Coupe rather than hot hatches) with 4 seats under £5k.
I've been here.
RX8 (do your research. Engines aren't bad. Badly maintained engines are bad)
Toyota Celica
Hyundai Coupe
Alfa Romeo GT
Honda Integra (imports)
Honda Prelude (getting old)
BMW E46 3 Series coupe (depending on your opinion, this MAY be sporty)
From that lot, I've owned a Celica (190), RX8 (230) and 3 series coupe 325Ci.
Unless you buy an Alfa GT or 3 series diesel, you'll not be getting any more than 30mpg I reckon.
On the RX8, its competition is really a TT or a 350Z, but neither of these has useful rear seats. RX8 will do around 20MPG, and does not reward economical driving, just drive it fast! If you do your research and carry out the tests you can get SO MUCH car for your money. I had the 3 series after the RX8 and it was so so boring in comparison.
Celica is very practical, and will do 35mpg on long runs, but you only get the 190bhp above 6,200 RPM, when most other cars have run out of steam, and it can get boring after a while when overtaking.0
