Aye, that was back about 2004 though when you could talk your way out of those things!

Dont have the plate anymore either actually, being a motor trader i never get to keep a car long enough!

It doesn't look particularly sporty and doesn't have the raw edge of say a Maxda Mx-5 but the golf v6 4motion is a damn good value, fast, comfortable car which I picked up for £2900 a few months back (52 plate, 73K).

It has 210Hp, 0-60 in just under 7 (though probably around 7 considering the newest one would be 8 years old now) and it has a nice 6th gear which on an A-road can easily get you 30+mpg. I average 20-25 in busy city and 28-32 on 30min A-road treks. It has leather seats, seat warmers, traction control etc and comfortable carrys 4 adults.

They go cheap (new it cost 25K+) because insurance is fairly steep ( though no higher than any other sports car), mpg i suppose & also if it does breakdown there's some fairly expensive components to replace.

Can't reccommend it enough though, the V6 sounds awesome!
