They only discount I know of for a Kindle is £10 off at tesco direct if you're a new customer. The code will be on the discount board. If you're already signed up, get a member of your family to join. Or use another email address.
I've seen kindle covers/screen protectors in Poundland if you wanted something to go with it.

  • Hope you have a great time at your meet, Own my Own and Amyturtle. :) Shame you couldnt make it ELJAYCOCK but have fun glitterfying everything. :)

Thanks snugglebunny and Nanamia, he seems back to normal now but couldnt go back to school because he was sick yesterday. Maybe tomorrow lol. DS has always been given antibiotics except this time when he was given drops at the walk in centre. (was a sunday) We went to the doctors on monday though and she gave him amoxicillin and said to stop the drops. (she didnt seem very impressed that he'd been given drops lol.) DS had had earache since Saturday night and it was getting worse so Im glad she did give him amoxicillin. The advice varies so much over the years and from doctor to doctor so no wonder people get confused.

Then went to Asda and bought 30 jars of lemon curd. I need the jars for sweets for the bazaar, and they were only 22p each. We all hate lemon curd, so I have no idea what I am going to do with it .:rotfl:

This made me laugh so much, hope you've found something to do with it. At least if you make cake, you could freeze it or sell it at the bazaar.

I then came home to attempt some wrapping and learned a few things which I would do well to remember in future years:

    1. I don't actually like wrapping no matter how often I tell myself I do.
    2. I have enough wrapping paper, gift tags, ribbons and bows for the next 3 years. I definitely do not need to buy any more in the sales.
    3. Never buy wrapping paper with glitter on. It may look pretty but NOTHING will stick to it rendering it as useful as a chocolate teapot.

Oh well, 7 presents down :T

Absolutely agree with every point. One year I ended up with so much that I gave it all to be used for the grotto presents at the school fete, as I was sick of seeing the same paper all the time.
However, I bought a job lot in T's sale in Jan so now I'm stuck with loads more that I now don't like that much just because it was 20p per box of 4 rolls and bows.

spring dreams your trees are fab, I love that they have changed over the years. I keep meaning to dig out an old one of ours. Will try later today.

Hope everyone has a good day. :)

  • just watching a DVD I bought from Amazon last Christmas, called 'Most Wonderful Time Of The Year' with Henry Winkler, only half way through but recommend it, its so lovely and Christmassy and also funny too, fab film!
  • Happy Birthday Pinknfluffy! have a lovelty day x

Moneysavingmumofone, it really does get confusing as you can get different advice form different doctors in the same practice, we are lucky to have a great practice nurse who is fab, but its so confusing to get conflicting advice - and dont get me started on forums or google LOL! :grin:very glad hes feeling well again now :)
  • Had the spirt of christmas really hit me this morning.. was out for our morning walk after the school run and in tescos i was showing libbie the small prelite real xmas trees (the £10 ones) and this old gentleman we often see on our walks came up and spoke to libbie all about the lights on them, she was in her element (lights are her fav subject atm) and he offered to buy her the pretty tree.. i wouldn't let him though and said i'd get her one.. he went off and while i was paying he came up again and passed her a xmas lolly pop lol she said the most clearest ty i've heard from her ever! and he went off smiling.

Its really put a smile on my face, i don't even know his name just someone who has always stopped to talk to me the 6 years i've lived here.

Also sent off the very last of my elf post for this year too, big ty to those who has had one and i'll def be making more next year, even designing a girl elf too!

oh how lovely!! what a lovely man, it really does make you think doesnt it? you hear so much bad stuff in the news, and somebody like that comes along and makes you realise what good people there are in the world :)

re the film, loved it! lovely warm Christmas film, but wouldnt watch it with littlies, as the little boy is asking how Santa can do it all etc, and the guest goes up onto the roof and makes footsteps and jingle bell sounds, and also the gift under the tree is one you see the mum getting, and he thinks its from Santa, so best not let little ones see it or you may open a can of worms!
  • So want to be in the Christmas Spirit but being laid off this month plus a dissertation to write has just stressed me out to breaking point :(

Half 7. Thought I was going to be rushed, but there was nothing I really wanted.
Got another tree for the ever growing forest, some porridge and some cheap baileys.

Then went to Asda and bought 30 jars of lemon curd. I need the jars for sweets for the bazaar, and they were only 22p each. We all hate lemon curd, so I have no idea what I am going to do with it .:rotfl:

Do you want any ? I can put in other jars, if you think you could use it.

See you in the morning x

You could make lemon curd tarts, they are yummyyy <3 Either that or make some hampers and put them in. Give them to charity or take them back to Asda :)
Trying to save up for a deposit for a mortgage....could be a while!!

Comping since 15/06/2014 - thanks to all those who post the competitions ❤️😀
  • Could you make lemon curd tarts for the bazaar itself? :)

Time is starting to advance quickly and I am getting the impression that my parents do not want the tree to go up until after they come back from their holiday. So, that means it will be around the 12th of December before it goes up. I could always go up into the loft and do it whilst they are away, but I think it is something my Mum likes to do herself - decorating the tree. Heyho...

My hunt for a teaching position goes on... Today, I have been offered an interview/lesson observation. However, once again, it clashes with work. The school cannot change the time and I cannot swap my shift [due to it being such short notice]. So, I would have to call in sick - something I have never actually done in any job. I've been doing some more research into the school and I am not sure it is the school for me. And, from my placements, I know that can make all the difference. If you fit with a school, it is the best job in the world. When you don't or the school is full of internal problems [like my first], it is awful. :o So, I'm torn now. Call in sick and give the interview a shot. Or, decline the interview [after all, I didn't have one when I woke up, so not having an interview when I go to bed is hardly a loss] and keep my fingers crossed for some of the more suitable positions I have applied for this week. I hate making decisions lol. :/
