Tho it'll prob be next year with the amount I've already promised DS1 we'll make. lol.loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Its not too hard to make! I've made it before so had a vague idea of what consistency needed to be like etc but I'm sure that you'll be fine following the recipe!
I'll give it a try because it sounds very tasty. If it turns out well, I'll give some to my mum for Christmas as she loves cranberry.
That's fudge, brownies and truffles to make now. How many sleeps left??? :eek:Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Glad you had a fab time OMO!
The plaque you got for your dad make me giggle.
Snugglebunny8-Your sleigh sounds amazing! Now they say to put something warm on the ear so the advice has gone round in a circle lol. We started using a hot water bottle when my mum suggested it a few months ago, total life saver when medicine wasnt working at all! Thanks.
x
Hi ALJA!
Hope your DD is ok my3girls. Poor thing having to keep going into hospital.
keelykat-Just noticed your DS2 was born Xmas eve last year, how lovely.
*Louise*-Your keyrings are fab and I LOVE the Rapunzel tower!
Nanamia-Thankyou for thinking of me.DS is getting better, he's definitely more his boisterous self today lol. He had an ear infection, swollen tonsils and has been sick today and yesterday plus came out in very itchy hives yesterday which meant another doctors visit so he hasnt felt very well at all bless him. Im feeling better too, just got a bad chest and need a bit of sleep lol. So glad your DSIL is going from strength to strength!
I struggle to think of something I'd like for Christmas. I had 2 things but my mum has covered them both: I struggle with hats and saw those hooded scarves so she got me one of those whilst we were in debenhams last week (25% off ) and I was wondering if those mini sewing machines were any good, and she reminded me we "shared" a machine that lives under her stairs gathering dust for the last decade. So that is now at my house too. There's nothing else I want really. Fabric off cuts to sew with?
Do love my new hood though, very cosy...Betsie2010 wrote: »Thanks moneysavingmumofone - Fred Claus followed by Johnny Depp in Chocolat helped!! Have ordered couple more Christmas DVDs from Amazon to try to keep the Christmas spirit going.
Hope your ds is not in so much pain now. I used to get ear infections a lot when I was little and my Dad used to warm a (clean!) hanky on a hot water bottle and hold it on my ear. Eventually I'd fall asleep and to me he always healed my bad ears!:D Thankyou, hot water bottles are definitely wonderful for earache! x
My MUA order arrived today and its fab! Their make up looks lovely and such a bargain. Loads of £1 items http://www.muastore.co.uk/store and (hopefully it still works) 35% off and free delivery when you spend £10 using this code https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/57205609#Comment_57205609 I bought some lovely forest green nail varnish, green eyeshadow and eyeliner. (Im gonna look like a xmas tree :rotfl:) some felt tip eyeliner for my sisters stocking, purple nail varnish for SILS stocking and a few other bits for under £9!!
Also ordered some of the Superdrug 49p nail varnish that was posted (sorry think it was FeistyFidget?) so one of those will go in my other sisters stocking and one will be used for my stocking secret santa from another site. I am fast becoming a Bah Humbug.:(
It took us over a hour to do the 20 min journey to see the Coca Cola Lorry.:(
When we finally got there, there (7pm) must have been a least 100 people queuing to have pics taken (in drizzle).:( So we took our own pics and left.:(
Went to Home Bargains, and you would think Christmas had been and gone. Half an isle of Christmassy stuff in the whole store.:(
Very UN-festive.:(
I just feel the shops are not trying at all this year.:(
I understand there is not as much money out there to spend, but there seems to be no incentive to spend what little we have.
Now I think about it, how many of us have said how poor the shops and fairs are this year.
Maybe I am not Bah Humbug, just very disappointed.:(
Feel like the weekend was ages ago now.0 -

I think they just parked it in the most stupid car-park in the town.
Last year it was at Sainsburys, which is on the outskirts of the town and just off the motorway.
This year is was at Tescos, which is on one of the main and busiest roundabouts in the town. It was just a nightmare. The last 3 minute journey took over 30 minutes.0 -

It does make you wonder who plans these things!
Springdreams Your trees are fantastic. I am especially impressed there were still unopened presents at 9.40am in 2007! :rotfl:
I had a lovely day at the Birmingham German market today and tried my very first German hot chocolate complete with Baileys which was gorgeous. Finished long before my OH had finished his beer!
I then came home to attempt some wrapping and learned a few things which I would do well to remember in future years:
1. I don't actually like wrapping no matter how often I tell myself I do.
2. I have enough wrapping paper, gift tags, ribbons and bows for the next 3 years. I definitely do not need to buy any more in the sales.
3. Never buy wrapping paper with glitter on. It may look pretty but NOTHING will stick to it rendering it as useful as a chocolate teapot.
Oh well, 7 presents down :THobnobs are like marines0
