What's everyone doing about Advent calenders this year? I'm tempted to do something different, as they seem pretty expensive this year!

I treated myself to a Lakeland one last year:

I love it and it will be making an appearance for many Christmasses to come :)

Just read chicky's post and remembered I also have a Lego Friends calendar which I won in a competition - but that's a single use one...couldn't pay £20 each for them every year I'm afraid

As this is the first year that my DS will not be getting a visit from Santa (he's said he knows that there is no Santa)

It's always a sad moment when that happens. When I told my DS a few years ago, he said he already knew but didn't want to spoil it for me! :o:rotfl:

He did ask tonight what will happen when none of the children still believe...I told him I don't care how old everyone is, I will still believe and 'Santa' will bring the presents the same way he always has while they live here :D

    Morning hugs OMO x

DD (1) decided to get up at 5am this morning! Normally I would ignore her til she went back to sleep, but we are all sleeping in one room at my Dads house, so I didn't want her to wake everybody.

Thanks for all the lovely words and hugs x

I've been trying to keep busy this week. I'm still doing the Christmas fair so I have been busy getting that all painted and ready.
I've been doing all my shopping online so far. That's the kids pretty much all sorted, just stocking fillers to get.

I got the elder two the Lego calanders. I got the City one off eBay for £9.99 and I used my tesco double up vouchers for for the friends one for DD.
I bought a gorgous stocking garland advent last year, so I will use that for the youngest and the odd chocolate treat for the other two.

Gosh! That's gorgeous. I'll have to see if I can find a cheaper wooden advent. It looks like something my DS would enjoy putting together. *Opens a new internet browser to investigate*
    Thanks for the inspiration!

I'd get my DS a lego one, but he'd expect one or of a similar quality every year - I wouldn't want to raise his expectations :p

They're lovely! I haven't got the time to make any this year but they're definitely on my list for next year!

On the coach going to Gloucester to see my family & driving through London is lovely. All festive with the lights & ice rink next to the V&A. Managed a quick pic of Harrods as we passed...(one year they lit it up green, which looked good-something to do with the Wizard of Oz?)

Ooooh how exciting! I've got my shopping trip booked to Harrods and Liberty on 10th Dec - I can't wait! I love wandering around Harrods Food Hall. :T I originally come from Gloucestershire, I don't live there now though so your post made me a bit homesick! Hope you have a lovely time visiting family. :)
