Does anyone have any experience with polly pockets? dd is 5, she loves lego & moshi monsters so when she asked for polly pockets (similar teeny weeny type toys) i leaped at the chance to get her something girly, as she doesnt really do dolls etc. Are they for much younger children? would hate to think ive wasted money on something she will only play with once or twice? im seriously considering ebaying the 2 sets & getting her more lego :-(
My daughter played with Polly Pocket until she was much older than 5. In fact she still has them and won't part with them and she's 18! I wouldn't give Polly Pocket to a child much younger than 5 because they have such tiny pieces in them.
The girls in the after school club I work in seem to love anything with little bits and pieces in right up until after they have moved up to the Juniors.0 -

I am so far behind at the mo, but thank you ever so much to those who answered my question on the Coke truck - got to see it, was fab, there was a little fella beside himself with excitement at the snow machine!. Had a bad day as something I had committed to before knowing about the truck had a time change and they still managed to tell me the incorrect time, so had to drop my coffee when I was rung to find out where I was:eek: And it went on for 1 1/2 hrs longer than expected, so I was completely panicking about whether I would see the truck, but it all turned out well
Also to whoever tracked down the truffle recipe for me, now copied an pasted into Word.A smile costs little but creates much0 -

Morning all,
Looks like i'll be spending most of my morning reading & catching up on the thread, Wow!!
Some of the cakes / crafts looks amazing.
So, I finally got out this weekend gone to make a start on my shopping and i'm kind of kicking myself as i knew i should have started shopping, Grabbing bits earlier in the year. As we was planning on buying a few bits from Superdrugs for OH mil - What would have cost us £16.98 last weekend, Would cost us £29 this saturday just gone.
So, Will be having a rethink on her presents as i cant bring myself to spent an extra £12 for the same products just 7 days later.
However, We did manage to cross some people off the list.
Truffles:
If anyone's doing these this year, Not sure if this has been said already but you can also do baileys ones for the adults just adding a drop of baileys to the cream mixFuture goals:

x6 individual personalised dvd slideshows
reto sweet jars
all the novelty tags for all the above
Plus still have a few things to wrap and start putting the hampers together. Its only when you count in number of weekends you realise you have very little time left!!!! :eek:Life is what you make it.0 -
Wow some great makes on here last few days.....nods to omo, kerrylm, kelly7, rsaini11.
spent ages looking for tags to match my paper that I bought in the sale last year without tags, never thought of making my own. Ended up with some that sort of go with it as I was so sick of looking.
Finished sewing the name on one stocking, possibly sewing a sprig of holly onto them at the suggestion of my niece who can't believe I am only doing names and nothing else! Depends how much more I can stand sewing after I have finished my name....though I have started to get a strange longing for a sewing machine!especially after looking up a tutorial online about how to do a particular stitch which ended up with me signing up to a sewing site who keep sending me ideas
