You've all restored my faith, thank you!
We have a crimbo 'thing' usually a week before we close for the holidays and it's all adults, how weird it would be if we didn't bother because it's a workplace! It's a daytime thing where we either have a hog roast or bbq or buffet, outside, Xmas music playing, managers being soaked in the stocks by any staff willing to pay to chuck sponges at them, people in fancy dress or at the very least festive earrings and a santa hat.Oh yeah and the festive interdepartmental tug of war competition. :T

I'm lucky, my brother does the cooking at his house. We go round and open all the pressies with my stepmum and SIL's mum and my nephew then me and my SIL just sit around drinking and we all play on the WII or boardgames etc.
My organisation really boils down to getting my pressies bought and wrapped (before December for that), cards sent, decorations bought and displayed (first weekend in Dec with the help of wine and either Xmas music or a festive film) and then I simply enjoy December and the atmosphere of it all. The present thing isn't that big a deal for me personally but I do like to give things which might make people happy. Nor do I stock up on or bake lots of extra food cos there's only me but I do like to plan the alcohol and have christmassy cocktails even if it's just me.0 -
Im another one, Who is a christmas nut but have no children!
Another one here thats tried and tested the truffles. This is something me & the OH do every year. This year however - im trying my hand at mince-pies and OH grandad would like a christmas sponge with theme styled icing! :O This is a huge deal for me as im no baker or even a great cook.
Anyone got any fool proof reps or idea's how this can be achieved mse style for a idiot? lol xFuture goals:
Become debt free.
Beat Depression.
Be happy & healthy0 -

I've had some pics of the kids done as a surprise & have the pics on disk & wanted to use one of the images to get a canvas. Can you just send the pic off to somewhere like vistaprint or is it better to take it somewhere to get done? I'm concerned that the image quality might not be great if I just email the pic. Any tips would be greatly appreciated
Hi, I use an ebay seller link here you just select which size you want. You "buy" the item and then just email the photo to him and he will let you know if it is not good enough quality or not. I have had a few pictures done and they have all been great and the corners are very neat. Good communication too.
I dont have anything to do with them, just a satisfied customer.

I also have no kids (yet) but am absolutely obsessed with Christmas and that will stay the same even if I never have any kids! People who say Christmas is JUST for children are the Scrooges in my opinion
Today I finally got round to making a photo calendar for my grandparents for Christmas, kicking myself as I had to pay quite a large delivery cost to make sure it gets here in time. My own fault,mi should have done it weeks ago.
I also fed the Christmas cake with cherry brandy, it is looking great!
I also dug out and got together all the Christmas DVDs and CDs...put them together in one place ready for December!
I still feel like I want to do something Christmassy. Is it too early to wrap presents? I know lots of you have started already but I don't actually have that many to do so I don't want to do it too early and then be running out of Christmassy things to do! Not sure what to do ...0 -

Hope everyone's feeling Christmassy - can't quite believe it's 6 weeks today!! Sorry to hear people have had a rough time and are poorly or missing loved ones - thinking of you all x
I'm also doing a cocktail type hamper but mines for kids, so more of a juice hamper. So far have got cocktail shaker from poundland with few stirers and them glow ice cube things in, some coca cola trays from poundworld to put it all on, straws and different colour juices. Would really like some novelty type stirers and them monkeys that hang on your glass by there tail but dont wanna spend much (have already bought presents, hamper is an extra gift)so if anyone sees any about or has any other ideas would also be very grateful0 -

Just a bit (more) help needed please, I'm wanting to buy some miniatures for hampers (baileys, wine and whiskey) but can't seem to find them anywhere! Can anybody point me in the right direction?
Sorry I only seem to come on here for help, I am a chronic lurker and LOVE this thread xxx
not definate nut think the whiskey shop in the metrocentre or fenwicks in town do minatures0 -
;)Helloooo all!
I would just like to make it clear that unlike the rest of you I am not a nut, barmy, mad, or crazy, I am perfectly sane just merely rather excited about Christmas
Boss lady was most disgruntled this morning. Apparently someone one her streets had already put up their Christmas lights...which one of you lives near my boss? Own up! I thought it was hilarious :rotfl:
The xmas tree Hubby ordered from Groupon (I think) is on it's way. Snuck my head into the loft (furthest I'll ever go) to see what decs we have. Strangely we have a box of gold blue and pinky-purple (not deep purple) baubles - a bizarre colour mix. Do you think if I did the tree in half gold and half blue&purple it would look ok (I don't mean down the middle, I mean ratio wise:D) or should I go two-toned gold/blue or gold/pinky-purpley? I don't really want to buy too many new decs this year as finances are tight though there is always £shop I suppose.
How do you all decorate your tree?
Decided I'm going to go a cooking hamper as one of Hubby's pressies. Going to have a look in the W0rks for a cookery book then buy him some ingredients to go with it. Also bought a restaurant voucher from travelz00 so going to book a table and create a gift voucher for him "a night off from cooking"
We haven't picked our secret santa for the Work's Xmas do but thinking if I get one of the girls, I'm going to do OMO's use your loaf hamper. Something amusing but useful.
Gosh I'm chunnering on today, better go and catch up on the thread and see what all you nuts have been up to xxx
ETA: I too don't have children (my choice) but I still love Christmas.0 -

I have just had a picture done on canvas for my sisters birthday from Bonusprint. There was an offer on at the time and the quality was excellent. We just sent them the picture and the canvas came back quickly. My sister was thrilled with it. I would recommended them and will use them again.0
