MaggieMCQ-The robin sounds lovely, I do have a soft spot for robin decorations! In Asda they do giant white mice and white choc jazzies for 10p each in the kids sweet section, would be good to put in your brothers mug. The mug actually sounds perfect for one of my brothers, will have to look out for it. :rotfl: Good for your nan, I hope it made that woman think! Poor you, last thing you needed when you felt rubbish anyway. You sound like me with the manners, I go a bit overboard on thankyous especially in shops. Everyone takes the mickey out of me but I cant help it. Thankyou when i hand the items over, thankyou when i hand the money over, thankyou when i get the change then thankyou as i leave. :rotfl::o Think thats why it stings more when people accuse you of being rude because you know you're 100% not! Bah humbug to them anyway, yay for everyone on here!'They only had one cow!'0

Making things is just what we are chatting about at the moment. We do go pages without it.
I feel slightly to blame as I have just started a mini business making small gifts, and show what I have made each day on here.
You really do not have to make anything to be on here, you just need to be -

I could probably join in a bit then
I havent got time to read all the pages as i use the computer at work.............................................................................................................................................................what on earth is 'snowman soup' and snowman poop ????!!..:rotfl::eek::rotfl:
I love making things but just dont seem to have the time these days as at work all the flipping time (or at least thats how it feels).
I have loved reading the bits that i have managed of this thread though....brilliant.i get a bit sick of all the people who maon and groan about it and say how much they hate it.
Thank god for fairy lights i say:)
Hope you feel better soon ON MY OWN.......actually there is a sickness bug going round here, loads of people off sick.......hope i dont get it.
I think on my next day off i shall get all my baubles out and have a look at them , i got some lovely ones in the sales last year.........and should really see how many i have as i could probably do 6 trees. This started out as a 'buy a new ball every year' thing..............which seems somehow to have grown to 'buy them any time you like , and in fact go in search of them':oYep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -

t-rexcellent wrote: »I'm planning on making a cocktail hamper for OH as we found a great old walnut drinks cabinet at an auction over the summer for a couple of pounds (!) and we're slowly filling it up with goodies. Does anyone have any ideas for things I could put in it? We already have a book and a shaker so I'm thinking mixers, ingredients etc. but wondered if anyone else was doing something similar or had seen anything out and about?
x
Some nice glasses would be nice, martini, high ball, pina colada, margarita, hurricane, maybe a fish bowl? Try charity shops & ebay, maybe ask some local cocktail type places if they need to shift any spare glasses?
Nice straws too, grenadine syrup, blue curacao0 -
Thanks everyone for all of your help with the cocktail hamper ideas - I'll keep you posted with what I find and post some photos when it's all complete :j
Hope everyone's feeling Christmassy - can't quite believe it's 6 weeks today!! Sorry to hear people have had a rough time and are poorly or missing loved ones - thinking of you all x0 -

Noodles - congratulations on your baby girl, wonderful news!! I hope you are all well. x
snugglebunny - thanks for the heads up about the Christmas at the Cupcake Cafe book, my mum bought me Meet Me At The Cupcake Cafe for my birthday and I really enjoyed it so definitely want to read this one! I've nearly finished The 3 Day Rule so need to stock up!
Drops of Jupiter - I saw Pointless Celebrities with the Christmas film round - I nearly got them all!
nanamia - i'm sorry to hear you're still finding it difficult with your family in Australia, but remember it hasn't been that long really, it's a big adjustment to get used to and it won't happen over night. I'm sure we all wishe there was something we could do as we don't like to hear you upset, but please do vent to us and hopefully we'll be able to cheer you up just a little bit. :grouphug:
junior_j - i'm so happy to hear your auntie and uncle will be with you at Christmas and it's going to be that bit more special for you, from the sounds of all the effort you are putting in you deserve it.
KMR1984 - Thanks for the peanut butter cup recipes, sounds fab! I will put that in my recipe file!
Hanley25 - So sorry to hear about your break in, as well as upsetting and frustrating it's just really unsettling isn't it? Where we used to live we had our car broken into twice and it's not a nice feeling at all. I hope it all gets sorted quickly for you.0 -
I was in Sheffield at the weekend and went to B&M - it's fab!!!! Unfortunately I didn't have loads of money to spend but I really enjoyed looking at it all! I bought a door mat for £1.99, it's really nice for that price actually! I didn't think I had a B&M near me, but I looked online and there's actually one 15 miles away! :j
I was stood in the living room last night and my OH came and gave me a hug, and when he did the Coca Cola advert came on the TV, it's the first time i've seen it this year and I made him dance to it! Very exciting!
Does anyone think that BHS will have their 20% of Christmas stuff this year? I saw a present that would be good for someone but it really isn't worth the full price. If anyone hears anything can they please let me know? Thanks.
I went to Tesco last night and I was SO GOOD - I picked up three of the selection boxes that are buy 1 get 2 free, but I put them back! I had a really good think about whether I actually needed them and I didn't, i've got no-one to give them to as I already bought some. Although now i'm thinking I should have just got them as it's really cheap for what you get and we could eat them! Oh well, can't win for being good and can't win for being bad!
Thanks to whoever posted the Harrods sale link (i'm really sorry I can't remember who it was) I got my Grandma a lovely cosmetics purse with scottie dogs all over for about £4.95.
Anyway, sorry for the long posts but I was catching up and had lots to say!0
