  • Spent about an hour searching for Christmas cards that I had bought in Jan.I knew I hadn;t gone mad and I had bought them. As a last reasort went into the loft. DH had put them up there:mad:
Anyway only need a few family cards but have enough wrap and boxed cards to start my own shop.

Last yr I made some pamper bags for the kids which also included some new pj's. Was sorting out tonight, again searching through wardrobes to find my bits and bobs I had bought. DD aged 14 looks good, DD 8 not too bad but DS 12 only have 1 shower gel.

They loved the bags last yr and all requested one this yr.

Not doing very well present wise at all......vow to be more organised next yr. Although for me I am more organised than usual.:rotfl:

I bought some shortbread biscuits in a tin with a dog on for £4 in Tesco for the lady who does mine and mum and dad;s dogs hair cuts. I also had a nice bottle of wine with a dine in for £10 deal so going to give her that too. Rang mum to tell her that the present from the boys will cost us £2 each. Very MSE :rotfl: She does us a good deal all yr so just a little something to say thank you. Mum will take it in a few weeks when she takes all 4 boys for their Christmas haircut.:rotfl:

Sorry for waffling. Going to Liverpool in a few weeks to go Christmas shopping with mum so hopefully will get most done then.;)

Snugglebunny your posts always cheer me up, thank you. I know it's ridiculous and we are so very lucky to be going out to Oz to see them but I still miss them NOW right now this minute! I had braced myself (or so I thought) for missing VDGD but didn't imagine missing her Mum and Dad this much even though we are in contact daily. My DH is sick sick sick of the tears now but I can't help them:(

Daisegg and wivvie you are now fully paid up members:) welcome. Come on in and join the fun. I'm not usually so miserable -promise.
Junior_J where have you been. We've all missed you and your inspirational posts. So pleased for you that your aunt and uncle have decided to join you for Christmas, that'll make it even more special. You are such a thoughtful person:) (don't disappear again!)
Nic bet you were shattered after such a busy day today, did you get many Christmas crafts done?
Moneysavingmumofone you know that the best way to spoil your Mum is not always 'buying' things. Just being such a thoughtful daughter that you so obviously are keeps the Christmas spirit alive all year round. It's the little things that make life so much sweeter:) xxx
KMR1984 they sound so yummy, will they last til Christmas ?
JemTom what a lovely thing to say, you are definitely one of us:) thank you.
Hanley Arrghh how awful, specially when it was your children's things that went! Did you have to tell your littlies that they had been pinched? And the thing about not claiming cos of the no claims bonus, always seems like punishing the victims doesn't it argh - rant over.
Spent another two house trying to sort my rooms of doom out today. Where do I find all this carp? Master bedroom looking slightly better will have to keep going now but baby steps:) Can't wait to do a little wrapping but will have to find a square of carpet first!!!
Linky hope you are fast asleep, but if not night night xxx

    Xmas Saver!
Not going to get a lot of sleep tonight.:(
Treated the kids to Domino's pizza for tea. I had 1 slice and have been sick 3 times.
Both the kids are OK, so it may not be the pizza, but it did start within half an hour of eating it.
I don't feel sick now, I just have a really bad stomach ache.:(:(
  • Aw Nanamia you always give me a lump in my throat! The best things in life are indeed free. :) It must be so so hard being so far away from them. It is still raw and you are bound to still miss them hugely. :( I just wish I could dig a tunnel directly to Australia for you like I thought I could when I was little at the beach! xxx

  • I go away for one weekend and come back to 6 new pages! All caught up now!

Birmingham was fab and found a lovely little shop selling Gisela Graham Christmas decorations, not very MSE but the little glass robin with painted on mistletoe was too cute to resist even at almost £4! Also got a lovely sign for the fire place with ''Twas the night before Christmas'' Written in lovely script :) I could easily have spent more in there than the £8.98 I did spend!!

I am almost finished pressie wise, got my brother a Mr Smart A**e mug from C@rd f@ctory, its a good size and since he loves white chocolate, im going to make up some white snowman soup, white choc coins and what ever other white choccies i can get my hands on then cello it all up. He is also getting a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles top cos he loved the show growing up (he is now 21, but im pretty sure he'll love it) Got my youngest bro, who turned 18 today, a Jack Daniels gift set, got BIL and my grans gifts too. Still need to get DHs grannys gift which is very difficult. She is 93, doesnt go out much because of Agrophobia(?) and is recovering from a stroke earlier in the year, and she has very sensitive skin and no hobbies other than listening to football, her eye sight and hearing arent great. She & myself & MIL are the only Mrs McQs in the family, oh she also loves family, is a framed photo of DH and I on our wedding day a bit pretentious?? And maybe a jumper or cardi?? Thoughts please x
And just a few things for DH then all done, apart the snow man soups & choc slabs im making :) DHs birthday is 2 weeks after Christmas so need to spread his gifts out a bit.

The cheeky woman in Lidl reminded me of something that happened to me early last December. I was in hospital for 8 days because I had the flu, I have asthma so the flu really took alot out of me, i was pretty much in bed for 2 weeks solid. When I finally got a bit better it was only 2 weeks til Christmas and I still had loads to do, so did my gran, because shes in a wheelchair she needs some one to take her out, usually me as my bro who lives with her hates shopping. So i was still quite weak but felt well enough to go out for a bit, i ended up regreting it. The town was packed and manouvering a wheel chair in big crowds is very difficult. I'd like to add at this point that my gran who raised me with excellent manners and if i dont use those manners when im out with her, she lets me know!! So i was ''excuse me please'' ''thank you''-ing all over town. We went in to C@rd F@ctory which was small and busy and after being out for 3 hours I was exhausted, anyway, i was squeezing past a display of wrapping paper, a lady moved to the side to let me past, i kept my eyes on the left as we were still close to the gift paper, and I was just about to turn right to thank the lady, before i got a chance she had her index finger waving about saying '' I believe the word you are looking for is thank you'' and she turned to walk away, my elderly gran hits out with '' i believe you need to find some Christmas spirit you old witch, my grandaughter happens to be ill and as I brought her up, i can tell you that she has excellent manners but you are not worth them!!'' hahahaha couldn't have said it better myself!! The womans jaw dropped then she turned on her heel and stalked out!!!!!!
