It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.
  • Wowsers you guys have written pages since I was last on this morning! It has taken me ages to catch up ;)

I have had a wonderfully Christmas day, doing lots of Crafty things - will update with photo's of these tomorrow.

I had my trip to the 99p store and managed to spend just under £11! I only went in for a look ;) My little Chihuahua's are no-longer fighting over the one mini hot water bottle as they had fantastic fleece ones in there! They look a bit on the cheap side, but my pups don't mind :)

I got a few decorations, and the awesome tree silicone moulds - these are going to be perfect for bath fizzies :) I also picked up a set of 3 glass cups which I plan to etch using my left-over etching cream and vinyl (I'm lucky enough to own a digital cutter) and fill with hot chocolate on a stick :)

Definitely feeling festive now! My challenge for the evening is to finish knitting my first pressie!

For my peanut butter chocolatey cup-type things (catchy name huh? ;)) I used:

    110g digestive biscuits
    115g icing sugar
    130g peanut butter
    112g butter (melted)
    400g milk chocolate

I used the round chocolate mould from Lakeland as pictured here:

    p13174_1?$380$
    • First melt some chocolate (I use approx 100g) and coat the mould (bottom and sides) before popping in the fridge
    • Crush digestive biscuits, add them to a bowl with melted butter and icing sugar and give them a good mix
    • Add peanut butter to the mix and give it another good blast for a minute
    • I used a teaspoon to measure out the peanut butter mix and squished as much in as I could, leaving around a mm gap
    • Pop it back into the fridge for 10mins and melt some more chocolate to coat the tops
    • Once you're done coating the tops, another 10mins in the fridge and you're good to go!
One note: This did make a LOT! I filled the above mould 3 times, so you may want to half it. Or not. It is damn tasty! :rotfl:

    Yum Yum...thank you :T

    Hi

Kids are done! Last one sorted today, I made a call to a dance school and booked my little girl in for a term of dance classes. She's only 2 but loves music, dancing, dressing up and they do a toddler group that offers a mixture of dance styles so they can see what they enjoy most.

DS is already booked for a football class too, he was so giddy after they did a taster session at nursery, so I called them up. Now I just have to work out how we can get to both on a Saturday morning, lol.

So, other than getting my gran some crisps :D I'm just about done! Even post off presents for my nieces abroad today!

Oh I love this thread so much :) I read every day but never feel like I can contribute as I am not crafty or making anything! But I do adore Christmas...does that qualify me to be here? :)

yes of course, its not just crafting on here its shopping and general x-mas chit chat
    Afternoon all :D

Hope someone can help me, does anyone know where you can buy a small bath? I'm sure a photo of one was posted a long time ago, someone had taken a photo of it in the shop-and for the life of me I can't find it. It might have been B&M but my nearest one is 30 mins drive so I want to be sure! It was to put bath bombs etc in I think. A lady was selling one on Facebook, I turned up this morning to pick it up but she'd lost it

Any help would be much appreciated!

think it was from wilkos hth

    xx

Not feeling very christmassy at all today. Our car got broken into last night and the kid's in car dvd players were stolen. They were hidden away under the drivers seat with a coat over them but whoever it was must have known they were there as they were the only things stolen! Our car insurance company will cover the dvd players but dh will lose his 6 years no claims bonus. Trying to decide if it's worth it or not. Also gotta pay out £60 to get the broken window replaced. Not a happy bunny.

    how awful! :(

i love your gift/card boxes they are great

Thanks, they are really easy to make.

    Take a piece of 20cm x 10cm card.

Score and fold in half to make 2 squares.

Measure 5cm in at the top and bottom.

Score from this point to the edge of your fold.
(You should end up with a diamond inside your rectangle, like this )

Fold so that the edge triangles overlap each other.

I then punched a hole through the overlapped sides and tied it up with ribbon.

    Hope this makes sense.:)

    EDIT- Have done Pinknfluffy28

Of course it does. This isn't a craft thread, it's a Christmas Chatter thread.
Making things is just what we are chatting about at the moment. We do go pages without it.
I feel slightly to blame as I have just started a mini business making small gifts, and show what I have made each day on here.

You really do not have to make anything to be on here, you just need to be -

    a Christmas Mad
    b Just Mad
    c Fruity Loopy
    d Daft as a Brush
