Of course it does. This isn't a craft thread, it's a Christmas Chatter thread.
Making things is just what we are chatting about at the moment. We do go pages without it.
I feel slightly to blame as I have just started a mini business making small gifts, and show what I have made each day on here.

You really do not have to make anything to be on here, you just need to be -

    a Christmas Mad
    b Just Mad
    c Fruity Loopy
    d Daft as a Brush

    :snow_laug:snow_laug:snow_laug:snow_laug:snow_laug
i crossed while you posted this.... im not crafty but im all four of those things. im in the family:T:T:T:T:T:T

Not sure if this link will work but I've just seen Asda groceries online has a 'pound shop'. http://groceries.asda.com/asda-estore/catalog/sectionpagecontainer.jsp?deptConfigName=Department&myFirstfacet=47002%3AGift+Wrap&addFacet=47002%3AGift+Wrap&aisleid=1215114705780&departmentid=1215109965079&firstFacetLabel=Shelves&pagenum=0&searchresultview=true
(go to the home & Entertainment section, then choose 'pound shop'.) Might be something for stocking fillers in there

I couldn't see it either, but just put pound shop in the search box, 160 odd items come up.
    Slightly worn out mum to 3 (DS1 May 03, DS2 Feb 05, DD1 Feb 08). When i grow up i think i'll become a UN Peace keeper....

Oops sorry I missed a stage out:
Click on Home & entertainment; then I clicked on 'for the home'; then 'view more types' and Pound Shop. It has 229 items. :)

I went to my mums yesterday and ended up doing my brothers Xmas list with him because he wouldn't tell mum or dad what he wanted it was a bad mistake he ended up wanting everything he saw so now my mum has to go through it and get rid of the stuff he won't play with etc haha!! I'm planning on doing lots of xmasy things with him in the run up to Xmas from beginning of dec up to now I have salt dough decorations and chocolate slabs so he can give them as gifts (he's only 3) then we will prob do some cards && pictures but not really sure what else as he dosnt break up from school till around the 20th so it will be either a sat or Sunday till he breaks up! Then on Xmas eve I've got him a Xmas DVD && book a Xmas colouring book and new pencils and pjs so we are going to do that on Xmas eve!! Any other ideas on what we can do?? ( it's just to keep him out of mum & stepdads hair for a day a week so yet can do what they need to)

In B&Ms they had some premade biscuits that you can make into cookie christmas trees or gingerbread houses and decorate them I have them for my kids. We love baking but are pushed for time this year so 'cheating'
  • Hi all
Ive seen a few people mention the card factory teddies so i popped in today, are they the snowman & reindeers? at £1.99 or do they do others but just not in the store I went in?
The only santa one i saw was £3.99 :( but a lot bigger which i dont want
My 2 year old would love a snuggly santa:)

Was in card factory today. Yes they do do a santa for £1.99 Also do robins and penguins for same price. I should no i bought 25 assorted ones today :snow_laug:snow_laug:snow_laug
  • For anyone making chocolate slabs or stirrers etc, Morrisons have some snowflakes (the hard crinchy ones) and little gree xmas trees with red tiny balls (again the crunchy one) in tubes for 75p each. They are about the same size as the little white chocolate stars. here's a link to see the snowflakes.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Hanley25 - Sorry to hear about your car - must've been an awful shock. Hope it's all sorted out soon, hopefully without any lasting damage.

    My latest mini-spree....

Lidl - Pandoro and pasta shapes (lovely find, thanks!).

Poundland - got one of the fridge magnet sets (only had the penguins left so got one of those but it's really sweet and reminds me of Happy Feet. Surprisingly OH thought it was great and couldn't believe it only cost £1....he said he wanted to get another pack to put on his car and I'm not even sure he was joking!!! I came back from work today to find that the penguin had been embellished with a Guinness bottle-shaped magnet strategically placed in his hand so the OH definitely approves!)

Next - glass tumblers with red reindeer silhouettes on them - £1.50 each - I wanted to keep them for putting Santa's drink out on Christmas Eve but I'm using them already....oops! Really heavy and robust so a good price. Also, my fave find of the weekend - rolls of clear sellotape (from memory about an inch wide, I think) with "WRAPPED WITH LOVE" printed in lovely red text. £2 for a 50m roll and on 3 for 2. I'm going to try it on plain brown kraft paper and also on cellophane. I love it!

Those who've mentioned needing to decorate large areas... in Poundland they had door curtains with metallic snowflakes hanging down. Could be very effective if you put a few in a row, hanging across a stage or a grotto entrance etc. Just a thought! :)
