Unfortunately there's no fleece blankets in my primark (grimsby) and the lady I spoke to doesn't think there will be any
Hoping to be at Meadowhall within the next 2 weeks so will hopefully still be there then
Did find these little beauties though for £3 - Set of three candles(come with a gorgeous bit of ribbon too to reuse and a snowflake charm.
ETA: Forgot to say - our poundland are finally putting out some proper christmas stock too, but it's only an aisle full.

There is a 98p shop? How funny!
I'm planning to put the tree and decs up on the 1st of December. I am tempted to decorate the bedroom at least before that, but I'll try to resist.
I say we always put the tree up the first weekend, but my sons birthday is the 26th November. Usually, we go tree shopping after that so it's delivered and has time to 'stand' before we decorate it. So, technically speaking, our tree is up in November, but not usually decorated until december.0 -
I was there yesterday but didn't notice these! Must have been the gazillions of other people getting in the way!
Don't know if anyone caught Pointless Celebrities on Saturday evening - they had a Christmas film round!
Did pop into town quickly today and picked up the Snowman fridge magnet, Xmas pud bin bags and a tree shaped silicone "ice cube" tray in Poundland though. Also got a tiny penguin for 99p in the Card Factory for my OH stocking. And thanks to OMO for the tip on loaf tins in 99p store, picked up one of those and a six case muffin tin for an attempt at making chocolate slabs and large chocolate "buttons". Feeling very excited for festive makes now :T:THobnobs are like marines0 -
Snugglebunny and moneysavingmumofone you really are the best. Thank you you've both cheered me up no end
No festive shopping for me this weekend although we have paid the last instalment on our Australia tickets so wooo hooo it's really going to happen:) Been a bit down in the dumps of late but love reading and catching up with you all.
Have tried to organise my spare room today, trying to make the pressie stash look better and more organised. Spent two solid hours moving bags from one place to another making far more mess than I started with. I'm going to try an early night and tackle it again in the morning!

:grouphug:Nanamia Hope you get your cheer back soon.
You feeling fed-up makes me feel fed-up for you.:(
I finished my tube boxes today and made another batch with gold disks. I put a couple of after dinner gold bar mints in each one.
I have just made this gift box.
Just got to work out what I am going to put in it.0 -
Bless you Linky, what a truly lovely thing to say. I love this thread, dread to think how I'd be feeling without it. Don't really deserve sympathy I'm just feeling sorry for myself I think. The secret of Christmas

Am going to make the boxes for children. Everything else I make is aimed at adults.
I will put some sweets in them. I have no idea which sweets, but it will be sweets.0 -

I have two daughters 12 & very nearly 5, and 2 step daughters 15 & 11 (my eldest is from my previous relationship). My dh came back from picking step-d's up last nite & announced their mother has promised eldest her dad would get her a new tv/dvd combi for xmas. She hadnt spoke to him about it first, and although dh is very angry at her, he doesnt want to dissapoint child. However, we have already got ALL their presents! as a rule, the step-daughters get half budget of what the 2 at home get (on account of ours being their second xmas etc). Now a tv/dvd combo is gonna be at least £100, so is it wong of me to now get a few extra bits for the other 3, obviously im talking £20 0r £30 each, not £100! dh says theres no need, but i feel as though they should all be treated the same, if we have to go over budget for 1, we do it for all. The cost isnt really an issue, its more from a moral and fair-parenting point. Sorry to ramble on, and i know it might seem silly, but im getting myself in a right state over this, and dh, being male, just doesnt seem to get it!family mean more to me than money it's call a life0

I'm on the look out for Christmas moulds to make Chocs with. I've checked b&m, home bargains, wilkinsons, poundland but had no luck. Hoping I'll find some eventually!
I'm sure I saw some Christmas tree moulds in the 99p shop the other day. At least I think it was the 99p shop I saw them in0 -
