Congrats pinknfluffy on the job :T

Louise those tree decs look fab, going to try making some for my tree. Hope you do really well at your craft fair.

Nothing much Christmassy to report. Tomorrow, when DH is at footy, Christmas 24 will be on and I'm going to write out my Christmas cards to make sure I've made enough. Also thinking of doing a personalise calendar for Hubby. Does anyone know of any sites that do them fairly cheaply where you can add important dates? Or even a template online I could print my own out though that might use a lot of ink.

Vistaprint advert on tv last night, personalised calendar for 99p+ p+p, Ive never used them but others here have so am sure they will let you know if they are good :)

Ive used Photobox for my holiday prints and they were very good, they have offers on there all the time for calendars, I know Tesco and Boots also do something similar.
  • I've used Vistaprint a few times and the quality has always been pretty good. The p+p tends to be pretty high though. :)

Just been to Tesco and purchased 15 selection boxes :) That's eldest sons football team sorted (my DH is their coach so I get the job of sorting a little pressie each for them), just got to chek if I need to do similar for youngest son (they arranged pressies as a squad last year rather than individual teams)

Just waiting on a couple of preordered bits now and I'm done! Jut aswell as we're having work done on the huse in a couple of weeks, which as meant we've had to completely empty 1 room! Also DS1 (9) has to have an operation at the beginning of December so thins could be on hold for a week or 2 after!
    Slightly worn out mum to 3 (DS1 May 03, DS2 Feb 05, DD1 Feb 08). When i grow up i think i'll become a UN Peace keeper....
  • i've used vistaprint quite alot this year.. p&p tends to be high and seems to take forever to come lol but within their time scale..

Decided im doing my candy cane sleigh a bit different to the picture i posted a while back.. Going to have a large choc bar at the bottom, then getting a bucks fizz gift set (The one with a few chocos and mini bottle) then another choc bar (kit kat probably) top trumps, and the mystical fire sachets i've bought and i shall get a shaped chocolate santa or penguin to sit in the front... That way i don't have to wrap up the other little bits i've already got and its a present sleigh not just a chocolate themed one.. think it will work ok?
    Totally debt free wohooo 2014

  • I've used vista print a lot and the quality is always great although postage can be a little expensive although this isnt really a issue as if you sogn up you get emails all the time about stuff you can order for free or 99p etc and they take about a month to come but I would highly recommend them!!

    Hi
Sorry just realised this idea has already been posted!
    Too many pages to read!

I've just made some hot chocolate spoons for my kids from the elf and I've also added some to my snowman soup bags.
I bought a big bar of chocolate and some plastic shot glasses. Melted the chocolate pour into shot glasses and then put either a ice lolly stick or a plastic spoon into the chocolate. Then set in fridge when they go hard pull out gently. Some of them I've topped with mini marshmallows just slightly push them into the chocolate. I haven't tried it and I'm not sure how well it would mix with the chocolate but you could also adding a vanilla syrup or Caramel perhaps?

I've added a small label saying put me into hot milk and stir.

I saw theses made in the supermarket and they were selling for a pound each. I've just made 8 for a pound!

If you don't do theses for the kids do them for yourself they make a delicious hot chocolate. :j

Hello my fellow mince pies :j

Has anyone else in the North East managed to get the luggage tag type labels that were pictured on here a while ago, from Poundland? Just been on the website and can't find them, the cardboard ones...similar to the ones posted a couple of pages back from The Range. I've been in four Poundlands in the area and there are none! And the nearest Range is about 50 miles away

They've become an obsession because I can't seem to find any!

I got some in Newcastle Eldon Square branch at the beginning of the week, I will have a look later on my way home and let you know if they still have them in.

  • his missus - I recently ordered a personalised desk calendar for my OH from Vistaprint and I was really pleased with it. I ordered it when I had an email saying it was free, the uploading fee was free too so I only paid £3.86 p&p for it! Bargain. It wasn't free to start with though, I didn't order it straight away as I was tweaking it over time, however one day I got an email saying they had offers on and desk calendars were free, so I snapped it up then!

The chocolate stirrer idea with the shot glasses is great prem0132 - I think I might try that next year! It would be good to get a good blob of chocolate on the end of the spoon and I like the little note you wrote with it. I did see a silicone spoon mould in Lakeland but I think that would get far too messy!

Everyone I have now added a '2013' tab to my ever-growing Christmas spreadsheet! It has 12 tabs! I needed to add a 2013 tab as I keep getting ideas for things i'd like to do next year. Blimey I knew I wanted to get organised but this is surpassing my expectations! :rotfl:
