this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk
  • Today I've ordered this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Playmobil-4890-Santa-Claus-Snowman/dp/B003AQBWQW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1352413907&sr=8-1 and this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Playmobil-4892-Xmas-Sitting-Light-up/dp/B0044FKO4E/ref=sr_1_2?s=kids&ie=UTF8&qid=1352413991&sr=1-2 for DD. She's getting a doll's house for christmas....every doll's house needs a christmas tree and a santa :rotfl::rotfl:

I also got the Tesco deal on the selection boxes today, I needed 12. I bought lots of baking things on 342 in Tesco as it's DD's birthday on 11th December and she'll love making cakes etc with me :D

Some great stuff being posted, everyone is so busy!:j Loving all the shopping reports :D

I bagged my tree decs today and made bags of snowman and reindeer poop :)

Am loving the tree decorations. You have been busy today. It isn't until you make these things, that you realise how long they take.

I have been really fed up today, for no real reason.
I got selection boxes in Tesco and sorted out getting out of work early to see the coca cola lorry. But nothing has made me feel better.:(

I am sure I will wake up tomorrow in a more positive frame of mind.
It didn't help that I came home from work to find NO little choc men, ONE choc stirrer and SIX dirty mugs in the kitchen. DD and her friends:mad:
The only good thing about that is they all wanted to know how much I will be selling them all for. DD had told them these were just practice ones.
So on Saturday morning I will be making another batch to take pictures of. Thank goodness the chocolate is going to be half price at the weekend.

Popped into the ONE STOP shop on the way home from work today and they had loads of 3 for £5 chocs, including Elizabeth Shaw mints and Terry's orange sensations.
They were just getting them all out today, so I will pop in tomorrow and grab a few.

The list is about half way down the page.

For those making hampers, Lidl are selling their clear and patterned cellophane film for 99p from next Thursday (plain 10m and patterned 5m). Time to stock up :j

Thank you so much for this. I've not wanted to ask where everyone got their cello from so I didn't look dumb!

I'm doing two hampers for the first time, largely from the inspiration from this thread. One's for my student son (20) & one for my mechanic son (21) Keeping an eye out for things to put into them is keeping me quite entertained really. :)

    Thanks for all the ideas
Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker :)
  • I'm really quite close to finishing my shopping now, and am finding it quite frustrating that "the smiley faced website" seem to be hiking their prices the closer to Christmas it gets! I've only had divine inspiration as to what to get my brother and Nana in the past week, have put price watches on them both and they're going up! If I'd thought of the ideas in September they would have been half the price :(

I have never done a fair, but I understand exactly how you feel. As you said people turning up is out of you control. I very much doubt people will pull faces at your crafts. Put some pics on here and we will tell you what we think. As you said, you have sold bits before, so you know it is sellable .

Thanks for your advice, no one I know has sold at a fair before or even likes making crafty items so I really don't have anyone for reassurance.
Will attempt to put some pics up soon, trying to organise a mountain of half-finished baubles into some sort of order!
Hope your Christmassy things are going well xxxx
