Now just gotta work out where to hide all the stuff. Our new house isn't great on the storage front :-(
I was planning on making Skittle vodka and cookies in a jar. I popped into Lakeland for the jars but they would have worked out really expensive. Anyone any ideas on where to get them from?

That is fantastic. I'm so pleased for you.
Can you point me in the right direction to find something similar lol?My retail job is on a tiny contact and yet demands complete flexbility for 7 days a week. Pretty mad really and makes it hard to fit in a second part time job lol.
Check out some well-known diy type stores!!! told them at interview about my situation & they didnt expect they would be able to accomadate me, but because of my retail & customer service background they wanted me enough to "create" a contract to suit my needs! im chuffed to bits!!It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
oh no, just found out cola truck tour is very close to us on 29th november, but i will be at work till 3pm :-( has anyone been before, whats the chances of them still being there at 4pm???It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0

The fact that christmas is getting closer makes me happy
Can't wait to spoil the pup rather than spoiling the OH0 -
i made some tags last night (telly utter rubbish) had some templates in a x-mas book so used them and made these:
3 personalised ones (still 3more to do)
and ones for my biscuits (only things wrapped so far)
They're great! :T You're inspiring me for next year, I can't do much this year due to wedding stuff but i'm already planning for next year and would like to make some tags.0 -
Evening all, thank you for the friendly welcomeYes, 99p. They weren't with the Chritmas bits or with the Manager Specials in my local, but on the end of an aisle opposite the fruit & veg - thought they had sold out!
Anyway, just in case you can't find them to start off
As I realised I still have about 5 bars of the Lidl chocolate from when it was on offer last time, I decided to pop to Lidl on my way home tonight instead of going at the weekend. I managed to find the Christmas pasta, somehow 3 bags of pasta jumped into my trolley :whistle:jcrobbielover wrote: »Buffy the Vampire Bat :-
you have great christmas traditions, have u considered laminating your grans recipe would save it forever ,
Great idea, thanks jcrobbieloverI scanned it a couple of years ago and printed the scan which I now dig out each year. The original has been tucked away in a plastic wallet in the meantime.

Thank youI remembered another one while in Lidl. My Dad always used to buy the trays of German nibbles at Christmas - pretzels, fish shaped snacks, etc. They seemed to disappear for a bit but most of the supermarkets seem to do them again now, so we always have a tray (or 3
) for the Christmas period. I tend to get them in Lidl normally - nearly had a fit a couple of weeks ago when I couldn't find any with the Christmas stuff but the day was saved when I found some by the till...You know the noise Scrat makes in the Ice Age films when he gets his paws on his acorn? Well that was me with my nibbles...
Mr Buffy and I are putting together homemade advent calendars for each other for the first time this year. I have bought some organza bags on eBay, which I will make numbered labels for, and I have a couple of wicker baskets to put the bags in when they are finished
The story foodwise so far - I made the spicy red cabbage last weekend and froze it. Also in the freezer are the sausages for the sausage and bacon rolls and some homemade redcurrant, orange and rosemary sauce to go with the turkey (The redcurrants were dirt cheap in Morrisons one evening so the sauce worked out cheaper than a jar of sauce bought in the shops) I bought the butter for the Christmas cake tonight (already have the rest of the ingredients) so Mr Buffy will be making the Christmas cake this weekend (He insists on doing it!)
Hope everyone is having a good eveningDFW no.554 - Proud to be dealing with my debts :TDAVID TENNANT CAN PROBE ME WITH HIS SONIC SCREWDRIVER ANYTIME...:AFLYING THE FLAG FOR THE CAMBRIDGE BOOTS TARTS :happyhear0 -

Do you know when it ends? I am thinking of using mine to get some christmas decorations....Gettingtherequickly wrote: »Just ordered some silicon moulds which I am going to fill with chocolate, any suggestions what else I could fill them with, plan to put them in little jars as gifts?

Thank you regarding my stocking making! My OH is taking me to £land, hobby craft & home bargains on Saturday! He must be in one good mood :-) & he said he will come with us to see the cola truck! Yippee.
Someone mentioned a real tree.. Went into Ikea today, they had posters up saying "buy a real tree here on the 1st & 7th December for £25 and get a free £20 voucher"
Seems like a good deal, didn't read the small boring stuff so there may have been some kind of catch. I don't have a real tree anymore so I didn't think to look properly. HTH!
Also brought a snowflake notebook from there.. So I am currently re writing all my lists :-) been running round the house like a mad women trying to find my 'neat writing pen' ...and my OH thinks I'm weird pfft!

congrats on the job - pinknfluffy
Right I dragged my sisters into every Christmas shop I could find today and into the Christmas part of every other one. They weren't impressed.
Managed to find some flat packs of wrapping paper in Poundland, think there is 12 sheets in them. Though can't remember who was actually asking for that but if your town has those Christmas shops that pop up in empty shops they usually have loads of different sheets that they offer for 10 for a £1.13 projects in 2013 0/130
