Hello,
Does anyone have any good recipes for jar recipes e.g. cookie ingredients in a jar. Also can you tell me how long these will last once put in a jar.
This one looks good. I would think the ingredients would be ok to do now, especially in a sealed jar.

How about something like this for cookies

Hey Nutters
I've lost my Christmas spirit a bit we keep having bad news after bad news.
So in the past few weeks my Dad's friend (who was also in the accident that killed my dad) his mother in law has died very suddenly.
So in 3 months this poor man has lost his best friend, his own Mum and now his mother in law
Then we find out we've been messed about and lied to over this house we were supposed to be renting. So no 'new' house.
Now my brothers having real bad problems with his memory (caused by the accident) so he's got to go and see the neurologist.
Bah. It's one thing after another.
So I'm trying slowly to find my Christmas spirit again. Listening to Christmas music and films, wrapping presents, drinking gingerbread hot choc and eating Christmas cake.
Bought an Aldi 4 bird roast for christmas day it was £9.99, so I am looking forward to that and we should get left overs too.
Been busy with ideas and buying things for the bring and buy we are doing for the air ambulance.
Been bagging up reindeer 'poop' snowman 'poop' reindeer 'noses' and snowman soup. Still got some chocolate slabs to do.
Also bought some bags of 28p asda toffees and put those in Christmas cellophane bags, they look lovely.
Watching a lot of Christmas 24 too
Hubby managed to get me the cardigan I'd been after for my Christmas day outfit from Next. It had sold out so I was pretty chuffed with that, he's going to give it me as one of my Christmas presents
Own my own - your brill all your Christmas bits are ace!
Chirpychick - I'm eagerly anticipating Levan's birth0 -
Sugarspun - what a lovely thing to do
It reminds me of last year - in the Westfield at Derby they had a scheme where there was family's in Derby who's children wouldn't be getting anything. They had them all printed out on tags and you could take as many as you wanted (they also had price bands) and buy the child a gift and then tie your tag to it and post it in the giant bin they had. I did gifts for 5 children as I didn't manage to do any shoe boxes that yearI think it's a really nice thing to do.

LOL thats brilliant! You'd have to make sure they're secure think Id be gutted if one dropped and broke!
Especially if it landed on your head or in your dinner :rotfl:Gettingtherequickly wrote: »When I looked first (well half looked!) I thought they were supposed to be umbrellas
so did I. lol
Hubby told me yesterday we will keep the two baby names Levan & Franklin and decide the day he is born what suits him the best as he thinks this would be the best thing to do. He usually just lets me make every decision lol so i'm quite impressed he has obviously given it a lot of thought, so we will see what Monkey looks like first!!!
I thought he was going to make an early appearance Monday as I was sent to the hospital for a trace due to both our heart rates being too high, but we were both fine in the end it was just part of white coat syndrome and when the midwife started panicking it made me panic so my heart rate up and so did the babys! But ive vowed to take it easy and try not to get too "excited" until he is here!
I am technically full term from Friday and he has been told repeatedly he isn't allowed to be born until the 17th because I will be going to see Twilight whether he likes it or not! LOL I have told hubby that as i cant book in advance in case we lose the money he may have to take a half day on that friday to ensure i get to see it the day it comes out, he was actually fine with it LOL. I have enough odeon points for 1 free ticket and have a few things ending on ebay at 3pm and one of them is going for £11.50 so far and i expected 99p! So hopefully the 2nd ticket should be paid for
We are having to challenge ourselves to living off the food in the cupboards, fridge & freezer for another 2.5 weeks plus £1 per person per day - it's becoming a little bit harder now but I am getting more and more creative with it. We never have much of a store cupboard so didnt have overflowing cupboards to start with. It's quite bad im putting my last cinema trip without having to arrange childcare ahead of buying food :rotfl:
I was wondering when you lot aren't planning Christmas which other boards to you frequent?
I was spending lots of time on OS but I don't seem to keep up with the threads as much at the moment and WHAT IS THE T WORD?????
oh also Hubby has a new dressing gown and new slippers for the christmas eve hamper and I brought the baby these

SO CUTE!!!
I still have slippers i saved unworn from last christmas and i dont wear a dressing gown but hubby *should* get £25 from pure profile in the next 28 days and i have requested a new pair of pjs and a yard of jaffa cakes :rotfl: the thing is even on ebay i cannot for the life of me find any suitable/reasonable priced pjs in my size! They need to be front opening or spaghetti straps and £20 or less in a size 24  (LOL remember im about to pop!!!) Ive tried evans, asda, new look, ebay - any other suggestions?
The yard of jaffas is £4 in Morrisons, has anyone seen them cheaper anywhere else??Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -

kraftykat we don't really have a say in what meat we have for Christmas lunch as we alternate between our parents. We are staying with my parents this year and they are doing chicken. If I was doing it myself I would probably go turkey!
sugarspun that's a really lovely thing to do. Unfortunately not everyone is trustworthy on the internet which is hard when you want to help people genuinely in need! You did it in good faith though and hopefully most of the people you sent to will be really grateful and touched. I'm glad Obama won too! :T
emmalou i'm so sorry to hear that you and the people around you are having such a hard time of it, it's so difficult to keep your chin up when it's one thing after another. I hope this thread can give you a bit of Christmas spirit back and help you through the tough times - even if you just use us as a sounding board!0 -

I saw that instore yesterday and it really is gorgeous xSpreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0 -
This is what I have made today. I think I will make the stirrers to sell, but the rest I will only make as presents. I can't say that I really enjoy making them, and would have heart failure if someone order 10 or more
Everything else I want to do, can be done in advance or sitting down :rotfl:
I may use the small moulds to make bath fizzers We will see.:D0 -

They are just disks made in muffin cases with crushed candy canes on them.
I had some melted white chocolate left over from the oreo middles.
It isn't so much hard work as just boring. I have washed up more times today, than I normally do all week.:rotfl:
I usually make them with the kids, which is fun. Doing it on your own just isn't.0
