I had some melted white chocolate left over from the oreo middles.
It isn't so much hard work as just boring. I have washed up more times today, than I normally do all week.:rotfl:
I usually make them with the kids, which is fun. Doing it on your own just isn't.
They look pretty, if you were *really* clever somehow you could make hanging baubles, the crushed candycanes on the outside of a full circle with a hangy bit at the top... ive no idea how but i looked at them and thought how beautiful they would look hanging on a christmas tree.
Or in snowflake shapes with the crushed candycanes on top or some silver hundreds and thousandsEverything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
We dig our own tree up from a local 'Christmas tree farm' on the first Saturday of December and it stays up until the last day of the School holidays. We tend to get Nordman Fir trees - they apparently keep their needles longer. (Haven't had a 'normal' tree to compare it to). And it's kept in a room with an open log burner in so the air is quite dry. Do it!! You can't beat a real tree.
(We got our first one for our House Rabbit's First Christmas cause we didn't want him eating a plastic one. He loves standing on his back legs to nibble the lower branches lol.)
Thank you MrsDrink you persuaded me to get my first real tree - all ordered and delivery date booked, so excited.0 -
Yesterday I bought a turkey crown for christmas dinner, I'm not a big fan of turkey but DH thinks he MUST have it at christmas
I'll do it with a gammon joint. For the meat eaters amongst us, what meat do you have for christmas dinner?
We always have a big turkey crown, but this year apparently we're having duck too.
I genuinely don't think I've ever had duck (outside of Chinese takeaway), so goodness knows what it tastes like.:rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf:0 -

krafykat we have a turkey crown from M&S with seperate tray of their stuffing (thats something Im rubbish at making myself!) for 4 of us, it serves 8 so there is enough to have a 2nd roast dinner the day after Boxing Day
sugaspun that is such a lovely thing of you to do, people are very lucky that there are those as kind as you around to help them, I know it can be hurtful and sad if you feel people arent genuine, I really hope those you helped are and Im sure what you did will be hugely appreciated.
Am so pleased Obama won too, I wont go too OTT about Romney as I get into Rant Mode - but lets just say ARGH NO!I feel more at home in America than anywhere, especially on the West Coast, I think I must have been American in a previous life! the people are just the loveliest you will find anywhere, am sure your OH is!
When I went back to bed at 4am, hubby woke up and asked how the results were, I said at that stage it was 174/173, he said 'wow its going to be so close!' even at 4am I was 'NO IT WONT!!!! dont even go there, I cannot exist in a world where Mitt Romney is president of ANYTHING!!'
emmalou i'm so sorry to hear that you are going through so much, and for your family, when you go through times like this it can feel like everywhere you look something is going to go wrong, it does stop honestly! sending you hugs and lots of good wishes, I hope we can bring you lots of extra Christmas cheer to help out a little bit xx0 -

Ive just seen a beanie baby boy on eBay and although i wont be buying it now im thinking of other people and perhaps next years christmas elf, incase people are still looking for an elf there seems to be quite a few "naked" beanie babies on there and the torso (so body not including head) appears to be about 6/7 inches long, where would you get an elf outfit that size? any idea?
(a friend just sent me about 10 beanies today and told me to sell them on eBay to make some pennies for myself hence why im having a good look on ebay to see what others are for sale but i don't have any of those so im not advertising my own stuff as i havent even put any on yet)Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
Now my brothers having real bad problems with his memory (caused by the accident) so he's got to go and see the neurologist.
A memory book may help , my dd has serious short term memory problems so we bought her a book to write everything down in , unfortunately also being dyspraxic means she is very disorganised and frequently cant remember where her memory book is!!!! .lol

How about something like this

You might find them cheaper elsewhere. Amazon, eBay & Lakeland as well as more specialist shops tend to sell them.0
