anyone else find that by buying stuff early theres soo much temptation to buy more then you need/planned? technically I finished the presents for my youngest wks ago and far underbudget(the rest will go into a savings account) but keep seeing stuff on offer and thinking oh that would be perfect and then have to stop myself coz I really dont need to buy anything lo else and its not very ms to buy more for the sake of it.
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -

We bought the mini chupa chups lollies from asda I think they're selling them off from halloween, can't remember how much sorry but it was a big bag of them quite cheap.
The lolly is approx 12mm wide and its tiny; Don't think you can get a 5mm lolly, that would be a tic tac on a stick lol, unless you mean the width of the stick itself? In which case these are about 2mm.

Well it's been decided (well me and mum gang pressed dad in to), a Christmas shopping trip tomorrow. Poundland and Wilkinsons look like good places to start. Been marking down what I want to look at. Has anyone seen the vintage tags in Poundland, do they look good in person?
I haven't seen those gift tags cos I was in my local pound land yesterday...wish I had as I had a similar idea. Bought plain luggage labels from amazon and East of India stamper that says "do not open til December 25th" and an ink pad from John Lewis. You can buy luggage tags in there with that already printed but they were 3 quid I think for 6...Which i thought was a bit steep.Getting the stamper and the labels works out cheaper and I can use the stamper for years to come. I don't normally make much of an afford with the wrapping but this year I thought I would.
I've bought lovely baskets in Home Bargains which have a dark red lining in them, with a lacy type edge and button for making hampers. The medium ones are 5.99.
Got main pressie for youngest, middle one I still have no idea what to get and eldest mainly getting money for a school trip. Mainly looking for lots of fab wee stocking fillers, even my hubby is getting a Xmas stocking this year...it might stop him raiding the kids ones for their sweets!0 -

hi jcrobbielover The slabs can be made now if you want to do them. I usually make mine at the beginning of Dec for Christmas presents.
Just store them in a cool dry place. If there are a few I keep them in a tupperware, with a piece of kitchen towel between them, in a cupboard.
I spoke to the school today and the HEAD said I can put my gifts in the staffroom for a week with an order form.:j
I will do this at the beginning of December, when everyone there is being more Christmassy.
I was up really late again last night making tags and putting them on the gifts. I have changed the Loaf present as I thought it looked a bit cheap. It is now in a metal loaf tin and has a oven mitt with it.
I think it looks a lot more festive, having the tartan mitt, and NOT being ORANGE.:rotfl:
Also saw these 2 bowls in the 99p store today and couldn't resist them. They also came in Santa or a Snowman.
PS - IT'S ONLY 7 WEEKS !!!!!!!!!0 -

Have you got any old fashioned sweet shops near you? My local ones sells her empty jars.
Last year I done a jar for my friend with milk bottles it worked out cheaper to buy loads of packets and empty them than to buy them from the sweet shop HTH0 -
Hi all,
I'm planning on making Snowman soup this year. I have bought some lovely snowman mugs and have individual sachets of hot chocolate and chocolate buttons. But I've bought the marshmallows in a big bag. I have bought some small cellophane bags from Ebay and some gorgeous red metallic twist ties and plan on putting the marshmallows in these. My question is how soon would you recommend me putting them in these bags? Do you think they would go stale if I did it too early?
Thanks everyone.Savings Account - £0.00
