  • we always told ours Santa brings their stocking and one main gift (from their list) and then they get gifts under the tree from us, family, friends etc.

It is a shame if there are adverts which may spoil it I agree, my DD was the same at 5 asking a lot of questions about going round the world in one night etc, we explained about the International Date Line, time zones etc, so really its a lot longer than one night. Time Portals are a good one! there is a book that explains the science behind it for small ones who are interested!

The one thing I did get asked was in Polar Express why the little boy Billy didnt usually get gifts from Santa, that's a tough one!

My two asked to watch Nativity after seeing the trailer for Nativity 2, and are hooked!
Busy planning a halloween party at the moment, back to Christmas after.

Congratulations on your lovely baby boy Twinkle!

  • Congrats all on the little bundles of joy :D

Jho123 suggested Phatstaks in another thread as a wedding gift, but I've actually ordered 3 for Christmas presents! My niece, nephew and my friend :)

Just search for 'Phatstak' on ebay.

Phatstak is a storage album with large capacity sleeves for a wide variety of uses from nursery keepsakes, student projects, albums or the travellers memorabilia folder. It uses elastic cord on every page to keep things in place, so you can add as much or as little as you like and the large plastic coil binder allows the pages to be opened fully.

It has 5 inner pages of 1250 micron grey card with coloured elastic so you can easily stack lots of items on one page. I have used one for an entire year of nursery painting and craft items. It's really good for things you want to take out & look at and to add to.

    Nursery storage
Keeping your children's drawings, collages and creative learning items together can be a bit of a chore, as there seems to be so much in the early years to keep in just one place. Phatstak can fit the entire year in one book for you to look at, at you leisure, it’s A3 size means you don’t have to compromise any items, everything is safe and sound and it’s size fits easily on most book shelves.

    Student projects
Whatever you're studying phatstak can be the most practical way to present course work or projects, as the design relies on stacking up the information within, the reader has to interact with the information and therefore your work will be memorable.

    Memorabilia
Other uses for for phatstak include traveller, music fanatic, recipe collections, letters, poems, in fact phatstak is unique to its creator's particular interests. Phatstaks are the affordable keepsake storage solution.

I'm sure artistic people out there could probably create their own for less, but I have to say I'm really pleased with the albums! They're a really great idea!

I've just bought sheets of letter stickers to personalise them myself :)

Oh. And happy christmas :D Enjoy... http://www.glenn.tapley.us/MC.swf

Well I've just been to Bents Garden Centre and for the first time ever came out empty handed - I was totally underwhelmed!! :( I don't know if I am just a grumpy guts but it certainly seemed to be a half-hearted effort on their part, with the focus on selling more than displaying.

On the plus side, I have been in the loft and found a stash of gorgeous christmas decorations I purchased in Lakeland's sale last Christmas :o

Whoever mentioned the musical biscuit tin from M&S - thank you! This is the perfect gift for my Nan, just her kind of Christmassy thing and I have some vouchers to spend there :o

Looking forward to all the Christmas movies coming on in November. I watched a lovely one called A Dog Named Christmas last year, got my fingers crossed its on again this year - my two favourite things, dogs and Christmas :xmassmile
