Well I've not been feeling very xmasy recently!! My bf's uncle has terminal cancer && is very poorly In hospital they are giving him a drip tomorrow as he feels like he can't go on so he won't be here with us after this week which is horrible!! The whole of bf's family is in bits including myself!! We are also waiting for bf's mum to have another scan to see if the cancer she had removed had come back!! (Leg && lung)!! Tbh this year has been the worse year of my life especially for bf && his family as we found out his uncle had cancer in jan then we found out his mum had it in March then his aunt died in April my dad tried to hurt himself in may && now this tbh I can't wait for this year to be over!! I think my Xmas planning won't go anywhere for a few weeks now!!
Sorry for the depressing post just needed to get it off my chest

And to all you pistachio lovers found these on the Tesco website http://www.tesco.com/groceries/product/search/default.aspx?searchBox=pistachio%20ice%20cream
Never tried it myself but they seem to sell quite a few different ones. Not sure if the link is working but just put pistachio icecream in the search box and quite a few come up X
Thanks tab1967!! The Joe's one is the one I bought the other day - seems to have recently come into Tesco. I think they are finally catching on that people like Pistachio ice cream and bringing it back to their stores. Any variety is welcome in my opinion :j0 -

Thank you, looks good, will have to see if they do it on kindle. My girls share a room so with lack of space and my daughter love of books started to develop we had to buy her one. however my youngest ain't far off neither but at 4 years old will have to sort through hers and ones she had outgrown give to charity to make room for christmas.
Played a blinder on hubby this morning, he took the kids to school and I had put christmas CDs in our car c.d player, it's a 6 disc one so you just select which one. I put Michael buble at Christmas first one, then rocking christmas on second ha ha, he came back and said oh you think it's funny that not just have I got to fight through the Christmas stash that hidden all round the house, you also got me buying christmas bits when I go out to shops, I now have to listen to christmas music in the car. He needs some more work on him but I am Excited for christmas NOW.
Does anyone have a link if online for the days for when the Christmas coke lorry is travelling around. My kids can't stop talking about the big red lorry ha ha.
well busy at the moment getting the house ready for christmas, unfortunately we have had to decorate our house again as all our paintwork turned yellow ( dulux products turning yellow has been known problem, thousands of people were affected) was on watchdog not so long back but we have had vouchers in compensation but we have had to go through it all again, but should be finished by Friday. Then bathroom furniture to be fitted, plus my new American fridge freezer should be delivered within next few days, told hubby once its all done, house is ready then for me to go mad with christmas decs, got lots of links saved to my I pad home screen. Thank you all for your wonderful ideas.
My heart goes out to everyone who will find christmas hard this year. It's not the easiest times for some. As most of you know my hubby has just come back from Afghanistan and we had his medal parade week before last and all i can think about is the three families who lost three soldiers from my hubby's unit. We were at the service in the morning and right in front of me were the families of the lost soldiers, I watched a wife and two children walk up to the square in bits and lay wreaths down. The look on her face is something I will never ever forget. It could of easily be me and my children going through that. It's Puts everything into perspective. Little arguments and petty things we find ourselves involved with, it's not important, we are all fighting a battle, we all have worries and stress, we should be supporting one another and this is why I love this thread it's lovely, people so kind and caring and it's what matters, going to miss it once christmas as come and gone x'There are far better things ahead Than any we leave behind '0 -
Always after a bargain - thank you for this post. Our paint done last year going yellow particulaly where furniture in front of the skirting - - paint from 6 yers ago looks whiter than last years. Anyhow we have had a bad year this yera (lost my job, then diagnosed with breast cancer 6 weeks after, and going through chemo!). Anyhow didn't do anything as so much going on and OH going on about its the new EU regulations about paint (despite me going it has to be fit for purpose).
I don't think I have the original receipts but probably still have the paint tins with barcodes on. Can you let me know how you got your refund? I missed the Watchdog - will try and google that but if anyone has date link it would be helpful. But you have saved my sanity .... always done a good paint job til now!
My heart goes out to you - my husband was in forces during the conflict in Bosnia and I worked with youngsters in the 90s during the first Afghanistan war - its so hard on everyone!:(
Hugs to all that need it - this is why Xmas is so important - my kids have informed me that they don't believe in Santa but they still want the elves to visit!:DAlways_after_a_bargin wrote: »

Yes your indeed right it was do to with new regulations etc and them altering the solvent level. Hubby had decorated the house before he went away on tour , it was done last year before Christmas. Slowly it started to go yellow, I blamed him telling him it was because he never sanded, used primer etc, it was awful, even lifting ornaments off the the windowsills, would leave a yellow mark to show where it had been. We discovered after research and the press coverage it was because of them altering the Solvent level. Hubby went back into the store with our tins which was still in our shed, with pictures on his phone of our paintwork. They gave us vouchers there and then, I know that some people have phoned customer services and had it through just giving barcodes of the tins over the phone, as many would not even begin to imagine that would of happend. Looking online that painting and decorating businesses have lost thousands in money and are currently taking them to court. We could of pushed to have labour costs but as hubby done it we just wanted the paint refund. We went with a water based gloss this time, harder to apply but stays white for years.
Good luck if you need anymore info give me a shout, just google it online it will bring all the press coverage about it up x'There are far better things ahead Than any we leave behind '0
