    Typical my nearest it's participating!

We have 2 of them, and neither of them are on the list . :(
And I have £35 worth on the dresser that I am about to convert for our weekend away.:(

This time in 9 weeks, some of you will have been up for hours :D. I will still be in my bed asleep. When we get up at about 9, I'll think of you all. I may even set my alarm for 6, Wish You All A Merry Christmas, then go back to sleep for a few hours.(That bit is down to how many Baileys Santa drinks on Christmas Eve. ):rotfl:

Own My Own, is your weekend away near one of the participating ones?

Willbedebtfree, what sad news. Thinking of you :grouphug:

:grouphug: kayandy, what a year. May the new one bring a fresh start.

MaggieMcQ, I wish you lots of luck in your trying - remember the trying is part of the fun, sometimes it's hard to keep that in mind.

Thank you ellie9ellie, what a brilliant offer. My mum's closest FIVE are not participating but I have passed it on to my friends :)

    9 weeks today :j

congrats Opee92 ! little DS's are amazing

CarlaMarie was thinking about you, am so pleased the bleeding has stopped *hugs* xx

re the Asda advert having seen it a couple of times I don't think it's based on Santa or what 'he' might bring, I think they are saying the extra gifts for grown ups/that you might get for people don't happen by magic, as there's no kids in the advert etc, but see what people think when they see it - don't think the advert would make kids look twice as there's nothing in it that would attract a child's attention, I took it as aimed at adults for adults? :)

ps; if a child should ask about the advert, you could point out that you buy for other grown ups and it's saying that all those presents Mum buys for her friends, family etc DON'T just happen by magic ...whereas of course the children's DO! x

    Sadly no :(.
It looks like there are only 4 in the whole of East Anglia.:(
  • Hi everyone, I noticed someone mentioned Marks and spencer musical or spinning biscuit boxes?
Was just wondering if they have them in this year? if so did anyone buy one, could they take a pic?

    Thanks in advance :)

    Jo

yes they have them in store and on the website, they are green Christmas trees with shortbread in (Christmas tree shaped) they are lovely, and play 'Deck The Halls' - apparantly they are selling out everywhere, I went in and got one yesterday as I'd been looking at them but hadnt realised they were musical!:o

I'd recommend them, they are very pretty :) my camera won't upload to the pc but I will post a link to it on the website after work so you can see it
  • I don't get to post very often anymore as every time I come on here i'm having to catch up, so i'm just going to post now even though i'm still only on p326! :o

I received a catalogue from The Book People and they have various Moshi Monster books, various 'teacher' books by Jack Sheffield - I thought this might be good for those of you with teachers to buy for? You can get a collection of 6 for £6.99, you could split them up if you have different teachers to buy for? Just thought this might be something different. For those of you who love Fortnum & Mason they also have 'Fortnum & Mason Honey & Preserves' recipe book for £3.99.

I was also in the British Heart Foundation and noticed on their counter they had sachets of reindeer food which I think consisted of a mix of oats and glitter etc, I know it can easily be made but if any of you are short of time and just want something easy then they're £1 and it goes towards charity! Might be quite useful to pop into a Christmas Eve hamper.

Also can any of you help - i'd like to get some nice stuff for my dining table such as a tablecloth, runner and placemats, can any of you suggest anywhere with nice stuff that's reasonably priced?

Ohhhhhhh. Yeah I've just seen one in a kitchen where she puts a present in a bread bin.
I shall be on the lookout for the other one.

ah, same here, Ive only seen the bread bin one, maybe they are showing different ones in different parts of the country?

if children ask about the toy one, maybe you could say that it's for the gifts mum buys for other children, relatives etc? as I assume most of us buy for a child/children other than our own? or if you also buy your children toys from you, in addition to those they get from Santa, the woman is putting the toys in the cupboard that she has bought for them/cousins/friends/school/charity etc? *insert as appropriate* ! :D

Lowering the tone considerably, does anyone who puts out reindeer food notice that the local bird poo goes glittery?
