*delurks* Well I've only just found this out, so in case anyone else didn't know, The Works has a website as well and for a 7 day delivery it is only 99p.

Damzel_In_Distress-I really am glad its stayed away for so long, hope it stays away for good bless him! It does really affect your confidence, I should be used to people staring by now but it still hurts tbh. Its really bad on my face/head/neck right now so no chance of hiding it! I will get a pic up of the pyjamas later, totally forgot! x

I still need to post a photo of the other xmas primark jumpers but I keep getting busy/sidetracked and then not ending up being able to get on here until gone midnight!
People always stare at what's unknown to them, as hard as it is i'd just leep trying to ignore it :) Some people just weren't brought up with the correct manners. One if the first things I remember learning from my grandmother was 'its rude to stare, you wouldn't like it if people stared at you, so be polite and don't do it to others' ;)

There has been a lot of movie talk going on for the last few pages and I could probably comment on every post but instead of boring you all with my movie knowledge I thought I'd share something I found that may be useful to anyone who wants to get some xmas movies or is making dvd hampers.
In town the other day i noticed a new shop had opened called thats entertainment. They sell pre owned dvds as well as new ones but the pre owned are all in practically new condition anyway.
Some are 3 for £5, Some are 2 for £5, Some were even 5 for £5.. It just depends on what it is. Anyway I managed to get quite a few of the xmas movies I wanted, All the dvds i needed for a dvd hamper Im doing and two disney movies DS has wanted for a while - 12 dvds for £20. They had tons of xmas movies as well

Picked up a leaflet at the till , they have a website and its free delivery on everything!

    www.thatsentertainment.co.uk

It works out cheaper than amazon and cex etc.
    :)

EDIT- I'm unsure if the 3 for £5 etc is available online or just instore but the website does let you search for you closest store and there seem to be quite a few
    Having a coke with you
is even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona

Bought for Mum, Dad and Grandma so far! So far so good. Although I wish I had waited as Amazon are having an early bird Christmas sale on 29th October. If I'd have only known earlier! That's what you get for being prepared and shopping early!

Still got to get for sister from Amazon though, so I might save something... Hopefully!

OMG, I love pretty in pink, have seen it loads of times but never made the connection to two and a half men! I knew I knew him from somewhere but couldn't get away from the fact that he reminds me of Matthew Broderick!

took me ages too! and yes he does remind me of him too! :D
  • I agree, she wants to be watching the stuff we watch (true blood - definate no no, vampire diaries - dad says yes but im still not sure) and the stuff i want her to be watching (cinderella, dora etc lol) well, you can imagine her response!

agree with you both on this, it is a very tricky age, we watch a lot of stuff which is suitable for us and DD (15) but not always sure if it's right for DS who is 12 so need to be careful, stuff like Friends he's grown up watching, and House, yet some House is 15 or 18, Two and a Half Men is really NOT suitable for him, though he loves it and we get more of an issue if he's not allowed to see it as he wants to know what he isnt allowed to hear. He doesnt 'get' some of the stuff anyway and loves the show... yet some he does 'get' which reminds me he's in secondary school! :rotfl:it's tricky because we like to sit and watch tv as a family in the evening and need to be careful what he watches with us. He loves Mike and Molly and also Russell Howard, which we are careful with as the language can be bad, but he's pretty sensible and knows that isnt something he should be saying, so I think it depends on the child.

One night hes roaring laughing at Two and A Half Men then the next day he's glued to Spiongebob! really is an age where they still have one foot in childhood, I'd prefer to keep him there! :rotfl:

Tell her she can watch True Blood but only while you're both watching it with her and then see how she responds! ;)

It's been a long time but I can still remember that awkward feeling when watching telly with parents and the characters on screen start snogging and getting fruity (oh the shame!) Obviously it was only very tame stuff but at the time it was sooooo embarrassing!

oh heck that took me right back! you won't be old enough to remember Bouquet of Barbed Wire? it was probably quite inappropriate for me to watch but I remember the embarrassment with my parents in the room! Thank heavens things have moved on, if it gets OTT now the kids are 'get a room!' and start throwing stuff and we have a good laugh over it, I'm glad we can giggle cos it was mortifying when I was a kid! :rotfl:
  • Just out of interest, does anyone have a 12yo boy to buy for? OH has just got in contact with his step brothers (12 and 16) and they are a nightmare to buy for - no idea where to even start espcially with 12yo as too old for kids stuff, and too young for teen/adult stuff.

meee! ok, DS and PS3 games, boxsets dvds, books (Hawkins Bazaar have some fab funny ones suitable for that age on sale) stuff to do with their interests and hobbies, fun stuff from Hawkin? board games, itunes gift cards, gift card for any sites they are on with their friends? gift cards for shops or websites, sports equipment? footy annual etc. You can get those wooden and baize mini snooker tables in M&S, Hawkin etc (they are about£15-20, 2ft x 18 inches, you can play a good game on them and they are great quality) Hawkin do several, also the mini table football and they do a mini air hockey game? all £20 and under and get a lot of use

Hey, hands off! Eric is mine aaaaaaall mine! :D

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

on x factor somebody mentioned Chris Martin, my DD hissed 'MY Chris Martin ..mine ..MINE!':T:D:rotfl::rotfl:

I said I think you might find he's Gwyneth Paltrow's Chris Martin, but I appreciate the good taste! :rotfl::rotfl:
  • i have officially finished my xmas shopping, but as usual, i have now decided it really doesnt look like much & want to get just a few more bits for dd's. thinking of a movie night hamper forr dd (12), can anyone suggest any non-xmas cheap dvds, shes got all twilight, harry potter etc, i would like something that maybe is based around a similar aged girl with similar "growing up" issues, but dont know if such things exsist. still deciding what theme hamper to do dd (5)...

Have a look at The Outsiders, think it's about £7 on Amazon. It's a 12 & I studied it at school at about the same age & it's my fave ever film. (helped that it had Rob Lowe to drool over :rotfl:).
