    Xmas Saver!
Just spoke to a woman at work about hampers as gifts. They get one every year from her SIL and she hates it. She said ' Does she think we are poor and can't afford nice food, or just that I am incapable of feeding her brother properly ?':rotfl:

Snugglebunny8 - I really dislike it when people comment on other people's appearences, it is not something I do myself. Ok fair enough, if someone walks down the street in a neon green lycra jumpsuit then i'd expect there to be some comments, but that is that persons choice to wear that outfit. What I really don't like is negative comments about someone's physical appearence - we are born the way we are and we cannot help how we look. And I know it's really cliched but it is how we behave as a person that really matters.

    Hear hear!

  • Hello :)

Thought I'd pop in. I did some early Christmas shopping at the weekend. I went to Family Bargains and picked up some good bits. They had some plastic christmas boots full of jellybeans for 99p for stocking fillers, and some John Wayne DVDs which had 2 films on each for 99p each. My dad loves John Wayne so thats a nice stocking filler for him.

Also picked up a tube of 5 shower puff things for 99p which will be good for my 'pamper night in' hampers. :)

I am after some ideas please, but no so much that I think it's worth it's own fred.

I have got 12 coming for Christmas dinner, I would like each to get a small favour or something simple as a token of thanks/love etc.
Just something small that maybe they can hag on the fridge or keys or something.

Can anybody come up with anything sensible (and cheap!) please?

    Hiya :santa2:

I've got my Christmas head on today good and proper  which I need to reign in or else I'll sicken myself before the end of November :rotfl:which usually happens *rolls eyes* just flicked through the M&S food guide.......how muuuuuuuuuuch? lmao :snow_laug..... I do however NEED a Macaroon Christmas Tree

Been into town for a few bits, M&S had no decent tins of biscuits that were in my price range so I'll source elsewhere, and no single pair of mens socks, I only want one pair for 82 yr old grandpa-in-law to go with his biscuits, so left there empty handed except for the food to order guide.

Nipped to Thorntons for 2 x Chocolate gift tags £1.50 each, but they are nice and in my defence they are for my 2 aunty's who are getting regifted gifts this year :money: and they will add that extra special touch, will be wrapped bautifully too (she says) it's not my forte.

Got 2 Annuals from Argos, One Direction for DD2 who is 1D mad and a Spongebob one (yay) for my nephew to go with his gift which I've yet to buy.

    I'm feeling most organised

Gonna read back now with a brew, then catch up with Downton Abbey. I'm itching to watch a Christmas film, ANY Christmas film I don't care which one lol

If you google snowman's soup and then click on the image search on the left you will see lots of images of how people personlise these. they make them in mugs, in cello bags, in tubs, in gift bags (both see thru or not) etc etc.. That way when they go home they can can continue their christmas celebration by making the lovley hot chocolate you gave them. yummmmmmmmmmmmm

I cringe when I hear stuff like this, as I made hampers for all of DH's family last year, and they are all much better off than us. They're all lovely so they wouldn't tell us if they hated them. I don't think they did, but you can't be sure. Anyway, tough, they're getting them again anyway!

Edit: just seen the Snowman soup, great idea
