abcdefghijklmnop wrote: »Hi I generally lurk listening to all the happy Christmas planning! I absolutely love Christmas :rudolf: and spend at least 6 months of the year negotiating how early I'm allowed decorations up in the house... (boyfriend is officially the grinch but we've negotiated 1st Dec so far...)
I've just had an idea and wanted you lot to tell me if it's silly as nobody else seems too excited by Christmas yet! My boyfriend isn't too keen on chocolate but is an obsessive tea drinker... I've noticed twinings sell individual tea bags on their website and even have some christmas and winter ones! Do you reckon it would work if I made an advent calendar?! New flavour of tea each day! Was thinking of making little pockets for each individually wrapped tea bag? On a Christmassy background (tree shaped maybe? Rudolph? thoughts?)
I think it'd cost less than £10 so I could do it as an early present! What do you think?
Lovely ideaI saw a twinning s tea Xmas wreath too on pin interest I think will try and find it

My foster son didn't sell anything - he has no concept of money. Stole from my purse and threw the money away so he wouldn't get caught!! Just one of those things really. He's been with me four years and there's no question about him being with us for xmas. He's done sorry cards and will repay £50 over a yr from his pocket money. He's never stolen before but it's a regular issue in foster care. I now have alarms fitted but I hate doing this in my own home. He has good reason to be angry at life and I'm trying to meet his anger with love but on occasions it does get to me (although I try not to let him know this). His brother did the same to me last year but has finally broken his stealing habit. I just never expected it from this child.
He's on a part time programme for school so i intend to get him shopping with me to show him that it's also the time and effort he's cost us.
I think I'm more annoyed with the social workers response... or lack of one.
Thanks again Ging x
No matter what his past poblems he has to understand (as long as he can obviously) that this behaviour will not be tollerated. You wouldn't tollerate it if it was your own child who did it and as he is part of the family it is totally unacceptable. Getting him to repay some of it is a good start but he can't keep expecting you to provide him with good things if he keeps stealing them!! Hope it works out OK for you x0 -
Excited about making snowman soup for the First time this yea hoping they will look something like this. http://www.kerryspapercrafts.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/091409_01.jpg.0

On your poor DS, I hate it when people assume things. It was me who was after the slippers. Have had some great ideas from people on here but will give the Lego store at the TC a call & see if such a thing still exists.
On a side note, what's the Lego place like at the TC? Keep meaning to go there when we're in the area but have heard mixed reviews.
The actual legoland part is ok. I think it's worth doing once, christmas time is usually the best as they have a lego challenge as you're going round for the kids to build snowmen etc out of lego to win a competition . But I'd only go when there's an offer on ticket prices, I don't know how much they are now but last year full price was extortion! And it isn't worth paying a lot for. A family of four ticket for under £30 is what we got and for me that was worth it.
They do have some fantastic things built out of lego though, you can stand inside some of them and take photo's which is nice
The lego is all pretty much regular rrp type price, but they do have some good prices on other bits, some of the lego colouring books etc are often reduced to £1.50 .
And they have the lego figure keyrings for £2.99 (if memory serves me correctly!) which is a great price if there is specific character a child hasn't got in a set but wants as last year DS wanted a yoda mini figure but he didn't come in any of the sets he had/got so we bought one from the lego shop and simply unscrewed the keyring attachment part.
Sorry.. I seem to have gone on with myself! :rotfl:littlemschatabox wrote: »
Thats like alot of the kids in my class, they are only 4&5 year olds but some have age 7/8 uniforms because they are so tall. Must be a nightmare buying new uniforms as they grow so quick! My mum had enough hassle with my brother in high school he went from like 5'5 to 6'4 in about 2 months, my mum was forever buying trousers! And shoes thats another story!!:rotfl:
!
DS recently came out of class without his jumper and I asked the teacher if she would have a look for it as it does have his name in, She said there was a few on her desk that day and I said 'well it won't be hard to tell which is his as it's age 9-10' and her face looked like this -
:rotfl:Having a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona0 -
