I GOT MY CHRISTMAS JUMPER!
Wasn't feeling the penguin, reminded me of my uniform from when I was at school so I got Santa. My OH wasn't overly impressed but he offered to buy it me :-)
Showed it too my mom & sister this evening.. They just laughed :-(
I think I look amazing in it.. It's all that matters right?!
Have nearly finished my Xmas shopping now. Just OH & dogs, then vouchers but I can't seem to find any Christmassy gift cards as yet.

Thank you all.
My foster son didn't sell anything - he has no concept of money. Stole from my purse and threw the money away so he wouldn't get caught!! Just one of those things really. He's been with me four years and there's no question about him being with us for xmas. He's done sorry cards and will repay £50 over a yr from his pocket money. He's never stolen before but it's a regular issue in foster care. I now have alarms fitted but I hate doing this in my own home. He has good reason to be angry at life and I'm trying to meet his anger with love but on occasions it does get to me (although I try not to let him know this). His brother did the same to me last year but has finally broken his stealing habit. I just never expected it from this child.
He's on a part time programme for school so i intend to get him shopping with me to show him that it's also the time and effort he's cost us.
I think I'm more annoyed with the social workers response... or lack of one.
Thanks again Ging x0 -
You lot are a bad influence, I went into Primark and a penguin jumper, reindeer pyjama bottoms and matching long socks fell into my basket
The reindeer jumper was very cute but I have a similar one I bought elsewhere last year.
Despite the name, I'm actually a laydee!0 -
I hope your foster son can learn to mirror the love you're showing him, gingernut.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

After all my efforts to get ahead my foster son has broken into my xmas stash and eaten/stolen nearly all of it. In total nearly £500 worth but I'm more annoyed about having to go shopping again. :-(
20 pages on here to catch up on too :-(
BUT my wonderful wife has just bought be a christmas magazine, some choc and is making me a cuppa :-)
Oh how awfulI hope you manage to get it all sorted!
EDIT - I've just seen you're other comment further on and I just wanted to say, I absolutely admire your attitude towards the situation. Not many people would be as kind and as loving as you clearly are.I will hopefully have a look sometime in the next few weeks, its 2 hours each way for us.
It is an hour each way for me, but totally worth it
There is absolutely LOADS I would LOVE to buy but sadly the purse strings do not stretch that far, and unless I win the lottery they never will :rotfl:
I buy a few things from there each year though, some of it is amazingly priced for what it is!
I went into asda today && picked up their gift guide it has some good stuff in!! Also picked up a book called hidden treasures by fern Britton will let you know what it like once I read it
They have some really lovely stuff and the prices aren't that bad.
Not much to report on the xmas front sadly. However that will change in the week as I have just won £110 :j:j:j:j
I never win anything, and i'm not just saying that. I don't think I have ever won anything in my entire life and I've been feeling really crap lately and worried and even though is isn't that much money I feel like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.
So I'm going to head to primark next week and buy myself a christmas jumper! I never buy myself anything anymore as DS always comes first (as he should) but it will be nice to buy something I actually want that is just for meHaving a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona0 -

John Lewis have some in ages 2 - 12 years, BUT they are expensive(well, to me they are)
http://www.johnlewis.com/333532/Product.aspx
Last year I wanted some Xmas themed PJ's for my sons (tall 7 & 10 year olds) and I looked everywhere!, but really struggled to find any. I ended up ordering some from John Lewis about 2 weeks before Xmas when they were reduced to half price. They were really nice quality and because I bought slightly bigger sizes, they will be wearing them this year too!

nic2075-We love littlest light on the christmas tree! You can get it so cheap at cex or on amazon pre owned too.
my3girls-Hope you are ok. (((hugs))) That Rudolph is AMAZING!!!! If I was a costco member Id probably buy it.
tab1967-How exciting, hope your first grandchild has mae an appearance by now. :j Will be our 3rd Let it snow baby!
katy1987-I saw that tree too, I WANT lol!!
Pips Mum-Huge congratulations of the birth of your baby girl. I bet you are over the moon. :j Ouch at the 4 spinals, hope the backache goes soon. Enjoy pink shopping!! xxx
kellyhghs-Love the snowman soups, I love it when theyve obviously been done by a child. The sweet hamper is gorgeous!!
whitesatin-The paperweights sound lovely.I love traditional pyjamas too but want some obviously christmassy ones for christmas. I can rarely get anything 'cute' for older kids, annoying when your child is tall for their age but still into characters etc! I can see myself customising a plain pair, will have to get creative lol.
gingernutbizkit-Sorry to hear of your problems RE your foster son and stealing. You are dealing with it so well though. I was on holiday once in Skegness and was at the swimming pool where a lady was telling a stranger next to her how this particular foster child was the worst she'd had, nothing but trouble etc. (in earshot of said child) Made me so sad. You obviously try to understand the reasons behind problems and your love and kindness shows in your post. Hope you all have a great christmas together. xxx
DamzelInDistress-Well done on your win! Enjoy your christmas jumper, you deserve it! :T
Thanks for all the christmas pyjama links, unfortunately I need at least 10-11 years. And DamzelInDistress needs 8-9 years I believe. So if anyone sees these sizes cheaper than John Lewis I will love you forever! :rotfl:Oops also thought I quoted the christmas jumper post, well I want them all anyway lol! Are they short or long enough to wear with leggings does anyone know?
Got some snowman marshmallows in Tesco today so thanks to whoever posted about those. Bargain at 50p a pack and perfect for snowman soup! Think thats the only christmassy thing to report lol!'They only had one cow!'0
