thanks everyone for your advice, i cant wait for dh to get home from his shift as i now have 3 or 4 solutions to the problem that arent going to cost us much more, or be unfair to our other 3 little angels. i feel a bit happier about the situation, and no longer have the urge to google "local hitman for hire" lol! thankyou xxIt's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0

I need some help off you lovely ladies!
A littel while some one posted a photo of a christmas bauble with a lovely verse/sentiment on it.
I would love one of these to give to my hubby (his father died on Boxing Day last year)
Any ideas where I can get one from?
Alternatively I was thinking about buying a bauble and using SAFMAT to put a verse on it myself. - Do you have any suggestions for the verse?
Sorry to be a pest - its just that I know Christmas will be hard for him this year.0 -

or..
that if she would still really like it, youd be happy to pay her for some chores to save up for it? Babysitting? Make the tea for the kids? Wash the car? Run hovver round?
Sorry maybe silly ideas....
babysitting, now thats an idea, it would mean we get to see them both more often, and me and dh could have a few nights out! It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
So tricky. Could you take any of her pressies back to stores for a reund and hence using the funds that you had already allocated her? Or possible ebay them?
Personally, I dont think I would, judging by what you said the mother just seems like she tries to be difficult and I wouldnt stress myself by going to such lengths especially after you thought you were done and dusted.
I would even go as far to say that having a tv is something that most would provide a teenage child with anyway; surely the mums just trying to shirt her responability by getting your oh to get it. Im not sayng its a right or anything dont get me wrong but I dot think its somethig I would get my kids for Xmas. Feel free to bite my head off ladies
i agree, they each have a tv in their rooms at our house, just hand me downs etc, but definatly not given as bday or xmas gifts. youve hit the nail on the head with their mother! It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -

Thik someone made this - not quite sure how though; maybe some of the other ladies can help. I suppose you could try something similar using stencil letters and paint or possibly the sticky letters you get0 -
Thats the one - thank you so much x
On a Christmas note - I went to Thorntons today and bought 2 advent calendars and some chocolate for the Xmas tree today.
I buy Thorntons because I can be assured that they are gluten free (DS has coeliac disease and follows gluten free diet)0 -

I have two daughters 12 & very nearly 5, and 2 step daughters 15 & 11 (my eldest is from my previous relationship). My dh came back from picking step-d's up last nite & announced their mother has promised eldest her dad would get her a new tv/dvd combi for xmas. She hadnt spoke to him about it first, and although dh is very angry at her, he doesnt want to dissapoint child. However, we have already got ALL their presents! as a rule, the step-daughters get half budget of what the 2 at home get (on account of ours being their second xmas etc). Now a tv/dvd combo is gonna be at least £100, so is it wong of me to now get a few extra bits for the other 3, obviously im talking £20 0r £30 each, not £100! dh says theres no need, but i feel as though they should all be treated the same, if we have to go over budget for 1, we do it for all. The cost isnt really an issue, its more from a moral and fair-parenting point. Sorry to ramble on, and i know it might seem silly, but im getting myself in a right state over this, and dh, being male, just doesnt seem to get it!
Could you put some of her Christmas presents away for her birthday?
Could you give any of her presents to the older 2 of the younger 3 (Does that make sense ?) Anyway , by doing that you would only have to buy the youngest another present.0 -

local hitman for hire :rotfl:
I would explain to her that you've already bought her something but that you'd consider buying her one for her birthday. Ooh, her mum needs a kick up up the jacksie! I like the idea of earning it through jobs or even other people giving her money to buy one in the sales too.0 -
