We love NORAD in our house as well, I get really excited on Xmas Eve morning when I get up and then I check it more than the kids - I think that is a little sad, mine also both get into bed as soon as he approaches Europe, its the best at getting kids to bed on Xmas Eve.

DD8 has started questioning the practicalities of Santa and the Elves, and is teetering on the brink of not believing, with the help of some older kids at school, I am so hoping for at the very least this Xmas when she truely believes. Also have DD4 so no worries there, she believes anything I tell her!

picnmix . How many dds do you have ? Do you have any ds ?

I have never meet anyone with 8 dds.

YAYAYA - got a rudolph scene it game in Sheffield (Hillsborough) today. I reallly wish they would stop moving that shop around. every time i go in things are in a different place.

Got some more olde worlde sweets for my dads hamper - couple of sherbet fountins and jelly beans.

Got the nuts element of the 'bird' hamper.

I think christmas happiness is rubbing off on DS1 tho as he insisted I had to buy some wrapping paper........ I didn't.

...........................................then got a txt off my sister............. can we just buy for the kids this year and not the adults. !!!!!! - so now the pasta hamper will become Mum's christmas pressie.

Does this happen to anyone else?? Is this the price we pay for being organised early??

I also went in dunelm mill hoping for the reindeer door stop....... and they had every one but not that one. will need to keep looking.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:

:rotfl: It's been a long day. I have been sorting my bedroom out. Not an easy task. It is in the loft, so I have been on my knees most of the afternoon. Not that that is any excuse for being plain dim.:rotfl:

EDIT Just read my post back. I do have standing room in my bedroom. I am sorting out the bookcases, and wiping the skirting .

Well done on the shopping this morning.

Morrisons have gift sets and boxes of sweets/chocolates 3 for £10.

If you got 3 sweets or chocs you would still have £20 to play with.

You could get a case of beer and split it up for the men. And some mini bottles of snowball or cherry brandy.(Savers do them for about £4) for the women. I don't think Bucks Fizz is very dear either.

EDIT- Been mentioned before , but how about these -

6 of them only comes to £16. So you would still have £14 to play with. You could put chocolate bars in them, and sachets of hot chocolate.

Ooo thanks for the suggestions sadly once couple do not drink and two of the couples only eat 'organic' food :wall:. Was thinking about some sort of gardening set, as I know two of the couples have their own allotments.

If you get stuck, you could still do the mugs with organic chocolates.

It's not a hamper, but I got my dad and his wife a set of self sufficiency books from the book people. £13 for 12 books, could get a couple of sets and split so each couple gets 8 books each? (apologies if my maths is all wrong!)

    http://www.thebookpeople.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/qs_product_tbp?storeId=10001&catalogId=10051&langId=100&productId=272476&searchTerm=Self-Sufficiency+Collection+-+12+Books

grow your own, soapmaking, beekeeping.. and they are a nice looking set with RRP of goodness knows what on the back of each one, so it looks like you've spent loads :rotfl:

quite interesting, i thought. hth :D

popped into Sbury's today, they have a shelf of Marmite themed gifts, like egg cups, mugs etc, very cute and they all look like Marmite jars, may be useful for somebody who likes Marmite and is hard to buy for!
