My DH buried his head under the duvet and said "I'm not having them singing about Christmas in October!!!!!". Both DD's came home from school yesterday with leaflets for the shoebox appeal. I love doing these with the children and we tend to go to Wilkinson's and buy lots of things. This year not only can you do one for children but you can also do some for adults and an old woman and you can also put differnt things in such as underwear, sanitary products, toiletries etc so going to work out what I can put in mine. The children will obvioulsy do boxes children but I think I may do a woman and a old woman. Does anyone else do these?
I've done the shoeboxes for quite a few years and really enjoy it. I also lost a little excitement when I realised my boxes would be re-jigged but I till do it and enjoy it. I'm a bit behind this year - I only have a pack of pencils and woolly hat so far!Crowdpleaser wrote: »Id love to do shoeboxes!

Unfortunately there's no fleece blankets in my primark (grimsby) and the lady I spoke to doesn't think there will be any
Hoping to be at Meadowhall within the next 2 weeks so will hopefully still be there then
Did find these little beauties though for £3 - Set of three candles(come with a gorgeous bit of ribbon too to reuse and a snowflake charm.
ETA: Forgot to say - our poundland are finally putting out some proper christmas stock too, but it's only an aisle full.Princess Sparklepants0 -

We have OH's parents coming to visit this weekend... We will be inviting them for Christmas (as we do every other year), I wonder how long it will take for them to tell us they won't come! It has been known for his mum to wait until the week before to tell us! My parents come every other year, they spend the next with my sister and we don't have these will they won't they issues with them.
Wish me luck as it is usually a long day when we get together, not because of hours etc, just because they are quite hard to spend time with.
Good luck! Hopefully it won't feel like too long a day!0 -

Id highly recommend Winter Wonderland or White Christmas, sort of cool and crisp with a tiny hint of Christmas tree, even hubby said what an amazing Christmassy smell! I got a box of the WW tealights on Amazon for £4.20 and 1.95 p+p last night, 20 in a box is about 80 hours worth, if you are trying the samplers I'd recommend The Scented Candle shop online, great service form them on my first order this week and p+p is reasonable and quick, or @mazon is usually good
Thank youI got some Kringle Candles the other day from the website and avoided the pine mentioning ones as I was worried they'd be like toilet cleaners/cheap car air fresheners etc. Will have a look at the Scented Candle Shop , thanks again :T
