  • I'm praying for a christmas miracle with argos (or anywhere).

If anyone can get 2 of these down to a sensible price I will be forever grateful. I have 2 little boys who I think whould happily give every toy they have back to santa to find them under the tree but cannot justify them at that price.

Part of the Furniture Photogenic Combo Breaker Xmas Saver!
Just so everyone knows, MSE won't let me thank some posts. I'm not sure why, It's letting me do it on some, but not on others . So just wanted to let people know I'm not being a Scrooge! I do appreciate what you all post, Its just that MSE doesn't want me to appreciate it today lol!

Have you had to read back a few pages?
I find once opened if you backtrack a few pages it doesn’t let you thank anything that has been posted while you were reading through (does that make sense??)

Ohhh noodles. I’d be going mental at them. I would guilt trip them. They cannot expect you to bring a newborn baby into a home with a wall missing (and your midwife would have a few choice words for them too).
I would be demanding that if it is not finished by the time baby arrives (be it earlier or later) then you expect to be put into alternative accommodation at their expense until it is finished.

I LOVE her way of thinking!!!
We never ever get a thank you from hubbies side of the family so every year I spend less and less on them.

I send my side thank you letters after and this year DS1 will be 4 so I think I’ll be sitting him down and asking him to help me write them (i.e. giving me his words). I refuse to send them to his side – he can if he wants (which he won’t).

It's always hard with this kind of thing but you have to put yourself first, it's no good shelling money out if you don't get som much as a thank you! Manners don't cost anythng. Also kaykandy, sorry to hear things are difficult for you too but you also need to put yourself first and look after yourself. Happy very belated 21st! Mine seems like such a long time ago... :o

    I love them too!

Thanks for that :) sometimes some people just not worth the effort!!

Ahhh, I have just got back from a lovely Christmas browsing session :) Went to help my friend choose some wallpaper and we went into the New BM that has opened in Bolton. They have aisles of Christmas things :j :j :T :T I resisted most things because I was with her lol but I HAD to buy a lovely white gravy boat with Santa and Rudolph on one side and a snowman and a robin on hte other side. really nice quality only £2.99 :):) They had TONS of other stuff which I can't wait to get back and browse through on my own :j:j :rotfl:;)

My local BM didn't have any Xmas stuff in yet although they were clearing the shelves so maybe next time I go in :)
I picked up the boots guide everything is really expensive but I have enough points on my card for what I need!! The box with them in was nearly full haha and I got funny looks for picking one up some people are such grinch's
I'm now going to put my pjs on as feel like poo as had no sleep last night make myself a hot chocolate & look through both my boots & studio books as not looked through studio properly && make a list of what I need from there!!

Don't know if it will be any help, after being extremely jealous of the 'Reindeer Monopoly'!! I went into my local Home Bargains today and they had 'Reindeer Scene It DVD' for £3.99, has a similar box to the Monopoly.

Sorry I can't post a link but if you type it in google it shows you from there :-)

Might be a nice pressie for someone!

    HTH :-)

I am still religiously lurking around here, just never post :-(

Hope everyone is doing well xxx

Post anything to give it ago.
    1 press post
2 open new tab and open page required
3 right click web address and paste
4 come back to post with left click
5 right click in post then copy.

    I meant copy then paste.
    Another lurker here.

Just seen this on holidays board & thought some of you might like it.

The Polar Bear Express comes to North East.

Sorry i have tried but cant post link its on the UK Holidays board.

Think its quite exspensive at £70 for a family of 4 but might be worth a look.

Not sure if this is the correct way, but it is how I put link to other threads in my post.

    Open post reply
    Open new tab.
Open MSE and find thread you want to copy
    Subscribe to the Thread
    Open subscribed to
Instead of opening thread with left click . RIGHT click and copy title

Just got Boots Cat in my lunch break . Now I don't want to do any work .
  • Thank you Own my Own, unfortunately I think its because i'm a newbie! :-(

I did see one on Amazon for £36.00 but then I saw they wanted £20.00 P&P  Does anyone know when Sainsbury's are due to have their half price toy sale?

I have a Gt Aunt who had no children, so buys all of our children Christmas gifts. It must be well over 40 kids by now .

When I took our gifts to her up last Christmas, I asked for some birth dates for the family tree. Out came a long list of people, but some had little crosses next to them and some were crossed out. Knowing that these cousins were not dead I asked why they had a line though their name and what the crosses were for.

'Oh that's my 3 strike rule. If you they don't send me a card for 3 birthdays or Christmas' they get crossed off, and I don't send them anything. '
:eek::eek::eek: Sorry but this did make me laugh! :rotfl:. It reminds me of a friends grandmother who does and says things like this.
just having some lunch and flicking through the Christmas mag (its called Complete Guide to Chrsitmas) which is lovely ... but I did have to smile at this >

In the planning guide 'end of November - start putting non perishable items in your basket each week to spread the cost' ... end of November??!! we are all doing that now!

'Christmas Eve - wrap gifts for the family's stockings' .. again .. Christmas EVE!?

I think we should start a magazine about how to plan Christmas the MSE way!!!!

I agree, but it would have to be a free guide otherwise it wouldn't be very MSE of us would it :D.
Some of those tips are shocking though, I've been spreading the cost for months, if you start doing it all at the end of november that wouldn't spread anything, it would proabably people (me at least) to drop dead of heart failure in the supermarket when I saw my bill at the till!

I love that B&M ! I have a big one closer by as well but I think the way they've moved the old Bolton big B&M to the new place and the way it's laid out and the size of it is fab!! I used to go out of my way to the bolton one even before it moved though because they actually have more stock as it's apparently a B&M wearhouse and not just a regular B&M ;)

I find once opened if you backtrack a few pages it doesn’t let you thank anything that has been posted while you were reading through (does that make sense??)

Nope :( It's still doing it now, I can thank some people but not others. It lets me press the thanks button but then instead of it disappearing like it usually does when you've thanked someone, it comes back a few seconds later and it doesn't show that i've thanked them. It's very annoying!.
    Having a coke with you
is even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona
