Ok, I need a serious non christmas rant! I am so upset (blaming the pregnancy hormones!!!) I may have mentioned that we were meant to be having building work starting next Monday (rented property). The whole of the outer kitchen wall was coming down (I know brrrr!) and being rebuilt. Well my landlord who is on holiday text me about half hour ago saying that its not going to start next week and she will contact me tomorrow when she sorts stuff out.

I mean I am bl00dy 6 weeks away from my due date and I dont need this stress (told you I was ranting!) I can obviously see that the work needs doing however this has been going on since beginning of july, it took two months for the builders to give landlord a quote (shes using a family friend as shes getting a discount ) I wish I knew how much the discount was and would give it to her myself to have it done sooner.

Ok I'm gonna breath now! And sorry for interrupting the festivities I am just on my own until last this eve and have no one else to talk/type to :rotfl:

Oh and I completely appreciate this is nothing compared to the people who have lost their loved ones, have anniversaries coming up or recoveries etc. I just needed to get it off my huge belly! x

oh no!! poor you :( what a pain. It isn't fair to mess you about, you need to get organised with the baby and you can't have that upheaval with a new baby - also the longer they leave it the colder the weather will be to have no wall! I assume your landlord realises you are pregnant? very thoughtless of them I feel! *sends you hugs* xx

Twinkle Ive discovered I am completely incapable of sitting still and resting even though csections booked for tuesday! Yesterday whilst pip was at nursery was my last peaceful time for foreseeable future and I spent it sorting the laundry and hoovering!!

Hugs noodle very frustrating for you x x

I can 2nd the countertop oven, we had one for 18 months until we could afford a proper one again. Think it cost about £40 and we did all our meals as well as larger meals for friends and family.
Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700

  • just having some lunch and flicking through the Christmas mag (its called Complete Guide to Chrsitmas) which is lovely ... but I did have to smile at this >

In the planning guide 'end of November - start putting non perishable items in your basket each week to spread the cost' ... end of November??!! we are all doing that now!

'Christmas Eve - wrap gifts for the family's stockings' .. again .. Christmas EVE!?

I think we should start a magazine about how to plan Christmas the MSE way!!!!
  • Don't know if it will be any help, after being extremely jealous of the 'Reindeer Monopoly'!! I went into my local Home Bargains today and they had 'Reindeer Scene It DVD' for £3.99, has a similar box to the Monopoly.

Sorry I can't post a link but if you type it in google it shows you from there :-)

Might be a nice pressie for someone!

    HTH :-)

I am still religiously lurking around here, just never post :-(

Hope everyone is doing well xxx

    Another lurker here.

Just seen this on holidays board & thought some of you might like it.

The Polar Bear Express comes to North East.

Sorry i have tried but cant post link its on the UK Holidays board.

Think its quite exspensive at £70 for a family of 4 but might be worth a look.

I am loving this thread. I haven't logged in to post on these forums in years as they started to get really horrible and people were being nasty to each other. However this thread is sooo lovely so I had to join in :T.

Ahhh, I have just got back from a lovely Christmas browsing session :) Went to help my friend choose some wallpaper and we went into the New BM that has opened in Bolton. They have aisles of Christmas things :j :j :T :T I resisted most things because I was with her lol but I HAD to buy a lovely white gravy boat with Santa and Rudolph on one side and a snowman and a robin on hte other side. really nice quality only £2.99 :):) They had TONS of other stuff which I can't wait to get back and browse through on my own :j:j :rotfl:;)
