Just got my Silent Night advent calendar, its so lovely! it folds out into a 3 page scene, it would look wonderful on a cupboard/chest of drawers, along a fireplace or table, it's very traditional, am so pleased with it! It came really well bubble wrapped, mine was Amazon Marketplace from Book Depository.
I have the beautiful blue trees/sleigh one called 'Night Before Christmas' also via Amazon, that one is glittery and fabulous, would recommend them both
AM on my 20th (it seems!) reading of Twelve Days ... it's Christmas Eve and the turkey is out the freezer ... the snow is still falling ....0 -
SugaJen, is there something your dad used to particularly always enjoy doing at Christmas? my late FIL loved to sit down after all the cooking and have a glass of bubbly and a slice of Pannetone, so we do that and think of him
I also have a particular bauble that I bought just after we lost him, I think of him when I put it on the tree and every time I look at it0 -

Yes, he liked a glass of Baileys and a slice (or 2) of christmas cake. I dont like either  will have to substitute for a can of lager and sponge cake...or apple pie. ThanksBoth my parents but especially my dad made xmas for me and thats why I love it so much, so just by having a really great day and spoiling the kids honours him enough.

Newbie here wanting to say hi  I love christmas but have to say its harder this year my 18 year old daughter is usually the one that helps with all the christmas decorations and movie watching, but a month ago she decided to move in with her dad 100 miles away. Wont stop me loving christmas but certainly not the same now I have no kids at home.
