Have gone a bit overboard this year with my hamper gifts as it will probably be the last time I can really afford it... even so , I've spent way less than I usually do
Next year, we've all agreed a strict budget of £10 each and I'm already looking forward to the challenge!
I ordered loads of bits and pieces from Amazon and Play.com for my hampers....all these little parcels arriving is making it feel like Christmas already LOL
So far .....
BiL - Hot Hot Hot hamper - got an ace bottle of Chilli beer for £1.49 (amazon)
DS- Movie hamper - popcorn boxes and a clapperboard (total £4.10) from amazon
DD - Wine lock puzzle £5.99 (The Works)
Son-in-Law: Golf apron (5.99 Amazon), Golf trousers (£9.99- unbelieveable as I spent £45 on some last year for him!!!) and a golf t-shirt (Play.com £4) - just need a cheap autoputter then he's all done.
Dad - as he's off to the States for xmas I changed from doing a real ale hamper (luckily hadn't actually bought anything) to an All American/ Best of British/ Transatlantic hamper!
The American bit -USA country & western cd, book about American Indians, and probably a T Shirt.
Best of British is a Union Jack mug, set of English teas and a Union Jack t-shirt. (this bit has been really easy and cheap 'cos of all the Jubilee stuff around).
The hard part has been getting the combination of both countries; so have plumped for 'An American Werewolf in London' DVD (£6 Play.com), a little book about English/ American words but am now struggling to find a third pressie and will probably end up with peanut butter!
As it's lashing with rain and I can't get in the garden, I'm going to decorate three shoe boxes today in red, white and blue, then print off some little flags to decorate
BTW...love the 'Organised Christmas ' site...lots of good ideas there:TStopped smoking 20th October 2012
This year I will have something that resembles a garden and not a building site!0 -

i always buy throughout the year to ensure the best bargains, especially for my own kids.
so far i have got my eldest sons main present which is a nintendo wii and game for £7.47:D! (from trading in all my husbands old ps3 games, which would otherwise sit in a drawer never to be used again) i have also got him the grim reaper stretch screamer (not sure if anyof you have heard of them) that was £4.50 down from £20
a couple of years ago we bought our dd a dolls house and painted it pink and white. i have just bought a set of three shops which is already painted and comes with the shop accessories (bakery, florist and something else)and people. i got that for £11.odd down from £44
i have also got her a bead box too.
i have been picking up kids dvds cheap too and i plan to buy the kids each a storage box and fill with dvds for them as we often have a 'movie night' at the weekend.
i also have a few random bits and bobs that i have picked up for family members.
this year i plan on getting the advent calendars with the drawers and for the eldest ds i am planning on filling with the lego minifigures (ive already picked 6 up for 50p each as they were from an older series, but he hasnt a clue theres series!! and hotwheels vehicles.
for dd i think it will be hair accessories and jewellery, maybe a couple of nail polishes.
but for youngest ds who will be 19months at xmas i cant think what i can do that will be small enough to fit in the drawers, but big enough that he wont swallow them! any ideas anyone?
Not sure how big the drawers are but how about pieces from the board puzzles like letters or numbers? Or magnets, my 15 month old boy will spend ages at the fridge playing with magnets?StayHome * StaySafe * BeKind0 -
I'm looking into doing the snowman soup for my friends for christmas...does anyone remember the cheapest place to get candy canes from at all?! Did the £1 shops sell them last year? I only need about 6
..me and my old school friends haven't done gifts for each other for years, but this year I think I'm going to do a little something for them each...just because I want to!

Have you thought about making him some chilli vodka? Very easy to do, just cheap vodka and leave a couple chillis in for a few days. I did some and left it for about 4 days and it blew my head off, but the recipient love it:rotfl:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Yes I cut them in half lengthways - leaving the seeds in. Then tried it after 3/4 days and decided it was headblowing so removed the chillis. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
