I booked tickets to go to lapland UK in December. Its very pricey, but we will only do it once and it looks absolutely magical. DD is 6 so will really really love it. I'm bursting to tell her, but will wait nicely until father christmas writes to her and invites her to help him... :o

ooooooooooohhh - more details or a link please abis21!

Thank you to the person who said about the £1.99 hall mark party packs in home bargains - I've bought the gold one for the elfs arrival, plus some rather funky chrome effect plastic goblets.

In home bargain they had a 200 piece moshi monster jigsaw I think £3.99.

Really gutted in the pound shops nothing much christmassy and what there was - no. They do have the photo calendars in though.

The poundshops also doing the bubblegum flavour toothpaste but she doesn't like it I don't care if there is a picture of a moshi monster on it I refuse! Wish they did the toothbrushes though!
  • Thought Id post the link again to cheap gift sets at Tesco Direct, the £2.50 Lynx sets have already disappeared and NEW ones appeared for £6. Also other NEW gift sets appeared so expect the cheaper ones to disappear soon! For example they have a Nivea mens wash bag gift set £5 and a bit down the page a NEW one in this years packaging with identical contents for £12!! The Impulse set is only £2.50 atm and usually around £6 so another good buy. http://www.tesco.com/direct/gifts-jewellery/gift-sets/cat3376665.cat?catId=4294960520&icid=giftsjewellery_flyoutlink_slot13

    moneysavingmumofone-
So glad I got bargains from the tescodirect link last week if they are putting things on for full price now. The £5 nivea one was one of the ones I got, so glad to get it for £5 instead of £12.

  • My DH just purchased a tin of Quality Street for me awww! But he said that he hunted the whole shop looking for the full size tin! ROFL.
He was so confused bless him.
He doesn't eat them as some contain nuts so he just steers clear incase he eats a wrong one by accident so hasn't really paid attention for years at the size of the tin and I had to say I was shocked too, it's like half the size they used to be.
I wonder if anyone knows how many grams used to be in them? This one 825g including wraps. £6 in Morrisons (cheaper than driving to asda and paying parking).

We never usually buy tins of chocolates but he felt bad for me as I had a bad day bless him.

p.s when i opened the tin it smelt like christmas :D

I also have started sorting christmas crafts out. I am going to try and sell some bits this year at local fayres etc. I've borrowed my mums sewing machine and got started with some things today. I will hopefully have some photos to post next week as I do need to buy some things. I was just practicing with the fabric and cotton I have at the moment.

Its starting to feel a bit more like Christmas is coming what with the colder weather and darker nights now.

Mojoworking - MrsGreenwood has kindly put a link up for you.

Its £180 for 3 of us (ouch!) but oh my gosh, I can't wait!! I absolutely love christmas and if I could afford to go to lapland I would. So this is an awful lot cheaper than actual lapland :D These are the kinds of things I have been having to tell DH as he is a true yorkshire man. :rotfl:

I am finding it very hard to keep my mouth buttoned and not tell DD tho cos I'm that excited myself :rotfl:

I'm gonna try and find some of it via selling christmas crafts tho, so hoping it won't be too bad. :o I do like sewing and faffy type things. I often play online games on an evening, but I could easily substitute that for a needle and thread and make some money out of it hopefully.
 Married my lobster in July 2011

TTC # 2 since Oct 2011 - good things come to those who wait :o

 2013 is going to be our lucky year
  • no use for you now chirpychick but co-op have the tins for £4.99 and Tesco for £5 as well as Asda (don't know price in there). lovely hubby tho.
I think the tubs started at 1kg, then 950g and I want to say 900g last year.

UK Lapland looks AMAZING - but no way would I spend £45-£60 a head on going.
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
