  • Apparently Argos 3 for 2 on toys starts again next week, possibly Wednesday. If there's stuff you want, make a list now and the day before it starts you can reserve it for pick up.

Thanks possession I've been holding off for this, do you or any of you other guys happen to know if bikes are included in this offer? it would be a great saving for me

Will look later a work. I am sure there is an old tin lurking about as a spare biscuit tin :rotfl: Like the biscuits last long enough to need a spare tin.

OMG We have 2 tins. One says 1.2kg with wrappers . The other says 2.4kg with wrappers. The big one is white and really old. I don't ever remember tins of chocolates that size. More's the pity !
  • How great is this - last night my mum told me to order a tesco shop to fill my cupboards before the baby comes :)
I got loads of soups and readybrek for my hubby (he has rosehip syrup in it).
But I also ordered some CADBURY ELVES! 1 for when it comes and 3 for my own stocking ROFL.
Luxury hot chocolate for our Christmas Eve hamper.
I also got some Dentabits for the cats stocking as intended in the offer.
The whole shopping was great as it ensures that we have nicely stocked cupboards but those extra bits are little things that don't cost much but just save me a few pounds going forward.

The Hotel Chocolat boxes came today - I am just going to order some cellophane bags on ebay and then put some in our christmas eve hamper, some in hubbys stocking and some in my mums hamper :D I'd say that was £7.95 well spent actually ;)

All I have left now is a shop in Poundland if I can afford it (using the £2 off voucher) for dogs collars and them Halloween bits I wanted, plus a present for my Mum's BF's Birthday.

    and
    stamps
    lager
    diet coke
    popcorn
    potato sticks
    scratchcards x 4
    lotto tickets x 2
    advent calendars x 2

    M&S Voucher:
Gingerbread men & treats of our choice (On Christmas Eve as per tradition)

Then I really need to focus on the Christmas Food shopping.

My Christmas tree decoration specially for this year is ready to collect (got the star from m&p's to commemorate baby birth) but they said the crumble bear sack is out of stock :'(

I need to also save £20 for our Christmas day out with my friend and her 5 year old too.

    It's getting closer!!
Everything is always better after a cup of tea

It goes by department, so only items that were in the toys and games dept were included last time. I don't think bikes were. : (
Of course that doesn't mean this year would be the same!
  • Hello everyone

I am very very excited about Christmas this year. I lived at home due to various circumstances until 2010, then last year and the year before we all went to Mum and Dad's as normal. However this year my Sister and her family are going to other relatives for Christmas and I have invited Mum and Dad to our house for dinner! My first Christmas Dinner, I am really really excited to be making it.

I always make the Christmas Cake and Christmas Puddings, in October and feed the cake until about a week before Christmas. I have also been diligently saving my savings stamps from Morrisons (I buy 2 a week or so) so that I can spend them on the turkey etc. Did I mention I was excited!!!

Only downside is Dad says I have to cook brussels *bleugh*
I promise that I will do my best.....
  • I saw these in Poundland, thought they may be nice for Adult snowman soups or winter warmer hampers?

  • ChirpyChick thats brilliant!! how lovely of your mum and it takes the weight off you having all those bits and bobs in already

Welcome Tawny75! God I hate sprouts too ... for the last couple of years Ive done them with pancetta, chestnuts etc (anything to take the taste away!!!) but last year hubby and kids said they really don't like them so I'm not bothering this year! (thank god for that!)

MsGigglewick, the 99p store stuff sounds great! I love the look of the edible Dog Christmas Card in Hawkins Bazaar - Id get that if I had a dog! I have a 99p store not far from me so will have a liitle look

Christmas stuff is on Hawkins website, some really cute stuff there and lovely stocking fillers.

Anyone had Rudolph Monopoly arrive yet? no sign of mine

  • Just rang Foyles for update. They told me item was ordered on 13th form the supplier in the US, and it is being shipped directly from them to me (I was under impression they had ordered them in to them and would then send out from them to me, that is what was said last week  !) but anyway, allowing 5-7 days to get from USA to UK plus onward delivery here, would expect them next week, provided they ordered them all at the same time? I placed my order on 6th but they didnt order from supplier until 13th (that bit ties in with what I was told end of last week)t
