ChirpyChick - Thanks for the heads up about the potential weather. Whatever happens I do need to get a wriggle on get us prepared for winter. I will get wellies, scarves, gloves etc over the next week or two. I also need to join the RAC, and will putt a travel blanket and a bottle of water in the boot.
Moneysavingmumofone - How about getting one of the man friendly older style DVD boxsets such as Die Hard, or Back to the Future etc, or.... What about a tour of Wembley?
I have a moral dialemma at the moment. I bought 'Nativity' DVD and its pre owned so is already unsealed and open. Its in the bedside drawer next to me and I could easily watch it, but its bought for all of us to watch at xmas.
The nice part of me is saying don't be selfish and wait till xmas, but the impatient side of me that wants to sneakily watch it now..
I feel like one of those kids on the Haribo advert where they are asked not to eat the sweet but can't stop themselves :eek:Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once.0 -
Thanks for the ideas BBTHREE, he doesnt watch DVDs/films at all, tbh its such a full house he'd never get near the Dvd player. :rotfl: Wembley tour is a great idea though, Ill have to ask my mum if hes done it.
Im sure hes done A tour but not sure if it was Arsenal stadium, Wembley or somewhere else lol. I say WATCH IIIIT!
You deserve a bit of festive cheer. xxx

P.S You reminded me of every christmas when I used to peel the tape from the edge of the Roses/celebrations tin, sneak a few then put the tape back! :rotfl:'They only had one cow!'0

My kids keep wanting the snowman on! Lol! Stupi
d question alert. Dd1 wants zoobles, squinkies and moshi monsters. Err, what exactly do thry do? Confused . Com. Lol x
Me and dh don't buy for each other now we have the kids. It is good but sometimes I'd love to have a little something to open on the big day.
Mum bought me an oasis album years ago and when I unwrapped and tried to play it, it was all scratched. Mum admitted she had played it loads before xmas lol! X0 -
Well i've been to town today and feel thoroughly cheated at the lack of Christmas stock in the shops yet!Popped into Boots and no xmas book out yet either..what they playing at..lol.
I have got most of family bought for already, mostly from the Jan sales and put away.Going to be a very tight christmas this year financially.
Eldest son is 18 now and my brain is telling me its time to stop going silly buying for him now.a few nice bits and a stocking still as hes still at home.Younger 2 are so much easier as they dont know some of their pressies are from Home Bargains etc.
Was talking to one of the dads in the school playground this morning and he was saying he has several old huskie dogs and from experience with the way they are shedding their fur we are in for a harsh winter this year. Not sure of the truth in it but going to try and have my pressie shopping done and sorted soon as i think as we are pretty rural.
Really want to make it a nice Christmas for the children this year with last year being horrific with death of my mum on 23rd December. We are going to Centerparcs end of November for a few days for Winter Wonderland,Paid for dd to see santa and ride a pony to santa but cant really afford to splash out on too many more activities but the children will love the pool so thats all free once we are there..be even more christmassy if it snows.Has anyone been to the winter wonderland there before? x0 -
Crowdpleaser-Squinkies are little see through balls with characters inside but Im not 100% sure what you do with them lol. They are cute though! You can get different ets and i think you roll the squinkies around, I got DS a Cars set from Boots for his stocking with a little ramp. B&M had some sets for £2.99 and £3.99 last week, MUCH cheaper than other places where they are £9.99. I was tempted to get some for me.
Zoobles i think are little figures, you can get ones where you can style their hair. Moshi monsters are little figures you collect, either in foil packets where you dont know what one you'll get or you can get sets. There's also things like the treehouse that you can use your figures with. You can also collect trading cards and join online to play. (free or you can pay to get extra priviledges on your account)
charliemaine1bee-Ive been a bit disappointed by lack of christmas stuff, there was nothing in the tesco express earlier. I know it was an express but I was disgusted! :rotfl:Centerparcs sounds wonderful, I truly hope you all have a magical christmas. xxx
P.S Did you see my post about the cheap travelodge in slough over christmas? I know its not ideal with kids etc but thought id tell you anyway. x'They only had one cow!'0 -

moneysavingmumofone wrote: »Sorry me again lol (I just get worse the nearer christmas gets! :rotfl:) Thought all the expectant mummies on here might be interested in the gorgeous gift I came across the other day on ebay. Its a personalised photo keyring that you can get your scan picture engraved onto! I dont think I can post a link but the seller is called temptingquality. Im getting my MIL the photo necklace but they have all sorts of lovely gifts. The baby scan keyrings are gorgeous though! I shouldnt have looked again as they also do fingerprint keyrings etc and a handprint one that I LOVE...Must stop looking!
P.S No I am not affiliated in any way with them lol.
I am not affiliated with them either but I ordered 2 last month with my friends baby's footprint and her name, they will put absolutely anything on them (Im gonna get my 4yr old to draw a picture to put on a keyring for his keyworker at nursery and have 'love Blake' or something) They come out beautiful, I was really impressed. Although 1 small point...the silver ones state nickel free for anyone who has allergies and the actual pendants are but the chains they use are not (according to my friend who got a rash from it)Good enough club member number 140
